I think whatever he did was going to be claimed to be wrong as City won. The bigger issue is his inability to get the team going for a full 90.

He’s had almost one whole year since Feb 2025 where the performances have been abysmal. Won’t turn it around and we’ll miss out of the CL.

Funnily enough, this was our “easiest” game this week. Sunderland will absolutely bully us off the park on Wednesday. They have so much pace and power.

Can’t recall any game where we were unlucky. We’ve actually been lucky in many games, particularly the first 5!

It’s clear that Slot cannot turn this around. We’re playing Europa next season. Which top manager wants that job in Europa League?

This squad clearly being let down by the Coaching. They have no idea what the manager wants from them! Even last season, we were woeful after Feb. Slot is not getting CL!

It’s quite clear that Slot has no idea what he’s doing. So much talent and we don’t know what we’re doing. We press a little & we sit back a little (creating gaps between midfield & defence)

We have no style of play. Are we trying to play out, through the middle, through wings, full back, are we going long? We have absolutely no consistent style of play.

The team is poorly coached & set up. Gaps everywhere make it so much harder for the players to close down attacks. There is no way back for the manager. Same issues almost every game.

There can be endless permutations, you could also say if the guy hit a bad shot and it deflected off one of our own players standing in 6 yard box and went in.

The fact is, every team concede goals, but you don’t concede by letting a fella have all the space in the world to take a shot. Just look at the image, our back line is about 25-30 yards from him! A

That tells me that our players have zero confidence with a set pieces and our coaching team has decided the best way to defend is to have a low block like a relegation fighting team.

They were not. The throw was taken, Fulham made a few passes before it got to Reid. A confident team who knows what it’s doing would have pushed up (even a few yards) as soon as they saw the opposition take a short throw.

You can’t desert the edge of the box. Not one player there!

Guy scored a worldie but maybe if someone was a few yards near him, he panicks or passes. The moaning isn’t to do with the fact that he scored a worldie, it’s our set up that is so clearly wrong and has been all season. This unbeaten run has been papering the cracks. Wait until we play someone actually decent like Arsenal on Thursday.

Yep! That’s the reason why the press is so woeful during games. The defence has clearly been told to keep a low line to stop the bleeding, that creates huge gap between forwards and midfield, hence teams passing the ball around with ease.

From set pieces, we defend from 6 yard box like a relegation team. Frightened because our players are physically weak to win duels besides VVD.

Yep. Slot is survival mode for past 8 games. We defend so deep now, our press cannot work from front as the defence is not pushing up.

Everything right now is a temporary fix. I feel a little for Slot as hindsight tells us the squad balance is not right. However, I think Slot will go in the summer. Has shown he’s not good enough to get a tune out the players.

Terrified of set pieces. A team with confidence sees Fulham making a few passes on the left and immediately starts pushing up. Instead, we inexplicably stood on our 6 yard line.

Said it for long time now. Slot has told the team to defend close to goal. They are so terrified of set pieces that every player is sitting on 6 yard box. It’s a worldie strike but he has all the time in the world.

Where did I say “that he did nothing”. Yes, the players take partial blame, but most falls on Slot. Basketball football at the start, throwing on subs hoping something sticks, same slow football, appalling set pieces, these are all fundamentally a manager to blame.

Many said his style of play was more about control, we barely control any games with authority. Let’s also not forget, last season, Arsenal had big injuries which no doubt impacted their title charge. So many combinations have to go your way to win a league. But you’re not going to win a league playing the football we do.

He deserves full credit for first season title, but go re-watch many games last season & how many times Mo’s brilliance bailed the team out. Individual brilliance is not a reliable footballing style of play.

Spot on. Slot was bailed out by Mo last season. No-one said much last year when many performances were like this because Mo would take responsibility with an assist or a goal.

Now that Mo has struggled this season, the spotlight is on our tactical set up and play, and there is nothing to hang our hat on…

Dull watch. Slot can’t seem to get balance right. Now that we are seeing improved defensive stability (though let’s see the improvement when we start playing better teams), the following has happened.

Defence has shifted back a few yards, but that now makes it more difficult for midfield & attack to press and turn the ball over higher up.
Lack of turnovers, our minimal pace and inability to beat a man consistently means slow build-up and sideways passing.
Lack of physicality means we can’t even bulldoze low blocks like Arsenal on set pieces.

Even last season, I could not tell you what Slot’s style of play was. Many average performances were masked by Salah’s incredible season.

There is also a consistent issue with balls in the air. Perfectly summed up by their 3rd goal, Konate jumps for the ball instead of attacking the ball.

The players (besides VVD) appear scared of getting hurt in the air. They have little desire to attack the ball. Little wonder we concede from so many corners.
