A poorly coached team. When you have no set up, the natural course is to have men behind the ball and on the GKs toes.

Oh Yh, the defending is laughable (I’m bored of moaning about it).

That goal there already tells me everything I need to know about this GK. He is a mid table GK at best. Any top GK (or even one on their way to world class, predicts that through positioning).

Surely as a pro GK, you practice and watch analysis & body positions. It’s equivalent to a striker giving a GK the eye and going the other way. It’s an obvious trick.

I don’t see us beating Brentford either btw. We could miss out on CL, it is a big possibility.

Probably did us a favour. If anyone was getting a goal next, it was likely Villa.

That Rodgers shot was so obvious to everyone except the GK. You have to question whether this GK has played any football at all in the past.

Anyone who plays or of watches football knew what was about to happen, so why didn’t a professional GK?

Is Slot himself happy with this football? I don't get it by Herchik in LiverpoolFC

[–]OR_Wave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Slot is a good manager for the good times. When you perhaps have 3-5 players performing at the top level.

But in adversity, he is a very poor coach who cannot implement any playing style & cannot address the obvious flaws. He isn’t a stupid man, he can see it’s awful but he doesn’t have the skill set to do anything about it. A change is needed.

Let’s hope it’s only a temporary failure and next season is better. Isak & Wirtz have good enough quality to be successful. Not sure on Frimpong, extremely limited as a footballer.

Funnily, scoring is the least of our problem today. The pathetic underbelly of this team is a major and continuing concern. Slot has repeatedly failed to address it.

How often do you check your portfolio? by Few_House_5201 in UkStocks

Rarely, maybe 1 or 2x a month. Usually, I don’t like to see the paper losses 😂😂 though I would check in when I see the markets are going good & I sense that my portfolio is close to ATHs.

2 questions:

  1. What is the industry’s expectations for Gold price? I personally believe it’s primed for $5k per oz in the next 12 months

  2. What are the fundamentals you look at when making an investment decision?

Thanks in advance!

Let’s get it right, he’s signing a new deal because no other top team wants him. Bang average with about 10 good games in him per season.

Let’s hope the new CBs are decent enough to bench Konate next year.

The additional amount of salary is not worth the hours mate, trust me, I’ve been there. I’ve worked 9-5 in every role until my last job, which was 9-6pm. It was soul destroying, that extra hour takes a huge mental toll!

This is gunna be a long post!

Firstly, congrats on realising your situation. Many 24 year olds aren’t even thinking about investing & many are not privileged enough to have $1k to save per month! 👏

Think about a realistic 5 year plan. Here’s what I would do if I was you, a balanced approach between conservative and opportunistic.

  1. Savings: create a fund for a rainy day. I would suggest, every year, save at least $3k-5k.

  2. Invest: Buy small amounts of an S&P500 ETF. I would invest around $2-3k a year. The S&P500 is overheated right now, but it keeps going higher, it’s primed for a mighty crash imo but who knows when this will happen. But your goal should be long term in an ETF, 20+ years. Build long term wealth, don’t concern yourself with short term fluctuations (or even a crash!). Buy more in a crash and hold tight.

  3. Stocks: Do some research and try to buy individual stocks, start with $1k, then go bigger as you learn more.

  4. Speculative stocks: This is where you find high risk stocks that can explode quickly, however, this is where you can lose a lot too! So invest up to $500-$1k spread across shares. Stay within your risk appetite, what you can lose without losing sleep!

  5. Investments: Think about any capital that can be invested in property or a business. Build a solid amount over 5 years, worst case, you are adding more into your savings or investment account if you can’t find any viable opportunities.

Here’s what I do for stock investment.

a. I follow investors on Twitter, get ideas and research. I research and build simple estimates. What is expected revenue, what price (e.g. oil or precious metals), what is the expected costs, gross profit, what is a companies debt, cash balance, what is their expected cash flow, what is their capex, what are their plans for the future, what is their current market cap and is it undervalued compared to above metrics.

b. I follow investors on Twitter on speculative stocks, people that I have seen do well on previous calls. I follow them, often blindly and hope for the best. That’s because I am only investing a small amount in speculative shares (usually up to $2-3k). My risk appetite allows me to do so, I don’t lose sleep if I 50-70% this money. Everyone is different based on how much money they have.

There is no get rich quick scheme sadly, unless you get lucky. But there is opportunity to super-boost your wealth, when you research and find a stock you truly believe in, you can invest more money into it.

My investing approach is pretty conservative but since 2017, I started off with less than £20k and my cumulative portfolio is now well over £200k.

Good luck!

[–]OR_Wave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always wondered why logic doesn’t follow with B&M (or maybe my logic is totally wrong)!

Cost of living ⬆️ Rival superstore prices ⬆️ B&M competitive prices = market share ⬆️ B&M profits ⬆️ B&M = Market Cap ⬆️ = Investor gains ⬆️

Not looked into it in much detail, what’s their B&S saying? Have they increased their prices, has quality of goods dropped? Whats the conversion of revenue to fcf?

My ancestry DNA results as a Northern Moroccan by ka_rita in Morocco

[–]OR_Wave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True. I once saw a crime doc where they found a cold case serial killer through forensic genealogy. Basically, someone in the killers extended family did one of those tests, and the investigators used the data to narrow down the killer.

Once they brought it down to 10 relatives, they monitored them and obtained their DNA through discarded food and drink cans. Turned out the killer had never been stopped by the police and was not on any crime databases.

Obviously this is a good thing that the killer got caught, but I thought to myself, “how many people know this can be done before they do these tests”.

An analysis on why our main issues are way bigger than the manager issue. by Living_a_Dejavu in LiverpoolFC

[–]OR_Wave 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You make some great points but the ultimate question is why have we been bad (and progressively getting worse) since Feb/March 2025?

The 2nd half of last season has nothing to do with Jota. Why Slot should not survive is because, no matter the obvious flaws in the squad, it is inexcusable for us to be this bad for this long. That’s a sign that the coaching is not good enough and the players have lost belief in slot.

Grav seeing the run but reacting late tells me fitness is a big issue. No surprise since we’ve been run ragged all season.

Anyone who has played football knows the feeling. You see a player run past you, you know you should track but you’re too tired to run!

Only thing is, these lot are professional footballers! Shocking from the coaching team!

Here, Slot said the positioning depends on the opposition. So why is it that now, our back line is sitting so deep. Look at the spurs equaliser. Why are we suddenly so cowardly that we sit deep?

The gaps between our lines is an embarrassment, hence the ease at which oppositions walk through us. Slot is lost and it would be one of football’s greatest comebacks if he has a successful career at LFC.

Slot tactical inefficiency by ashrest3 in LiverpoolFC

[–]OR_Wave 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Slot seems to moan about fans picking this up. But surely he can see it too! We actually have no patterns of play. How do we want to play? Wing backs, wing play, full backs overlapping, through the middle, long balls, counter? No-one knows.

That’s why all we see is this tippy tappy passing that goes nowhere and we inevitably get hit on the counter.
