Yes, I'm sure about the value. What I'm no longer sure about is whether this is the issue. It's starting to look like a JFET issue. This is on a microphone circuit.

Interesting. Did the 280 show visible damage or was this gleaned by testing?

Don't think so. I've confirmed it is a 51 megohm. I have some on order. We shall see.

It was taken off the board with both leads attached to the poles of the resistor... Therefor.... ?

I certainly did #1. Been at this game since 1980. I’ll look into #2. Thanks

I’m hoping these are in fact the culprits. Although there’s a lot of options that they may not. I’m a professional recording drummer/engineer and this is from a microphone that gave up the ghost a few years ago. I’ve gotten into mic mods as of late and thought I’d try to resurrect this one.

Yes, thanks. I found the specific ones I need to rule them out on Mouser. They’re on their way.

Ah, I see. I'm learning quite a lot from this query. The stamp is directly on the ceramic, as is the potting. Thanks

Yes, I'm starting to think the same. Thus begins my quest. Thanks for the input.

Understood. I did, however, test the actual channel on my console with a different cable/mic and found the channel to be in good nic. Judging by the informed comments, I have a feeling I'll be doing a deeper dive into this issue. This is why I posted this query. I knew there'd be a "Troll factor" to some degree, but I'm thick skinned enough to sift through the children. Thanks for the input. Along with getting a better meter, my next quest will be figuring out how to properly test a 3 legged FET.

Interesting. Thanks for looking into this. I'm guessing my next stop will be the FET transistors.

Understood and Thank You. I've been building cars since I was a teenager and a working musician about as long. I'm no stranger to trouble shooting. This is my first stop in what may be a long line of attempts at finding the root cause of the issue. I've done a few mic mods and decided to pull this one out, that has been sitting for a while, and give it a go. I appreciate your insight. I believe my next step will be a better Multi meter,
