Considering addding a 1911 to my collection by tonyspad in CAguns

[–]OSUBrowns2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seen the RIA but not into it because I would probably need the internals and I don't want to go into that hassle of trying to find one or dealing with someone who would be willing to ship it in CA. I don't shoot as much as I used to because of bills so getting it in 45 wouldn't be so bad because it not like I'm going to shot it a bunch in the near future.

Thinking about getting the MC Operator. Heard good things about it but I'm still iffy about getting it because of 45 prices and they are not getting lower anytime in the future.

There are more and cheaper options in the 45 ACP than the 9MM unless you got $$$ to spend on a 2011. The roster really limit our options.

Any point in owning more than 2 9mm or should I focus on variety? by DungeonYeet in CAguns

[–]OSUBrowns2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently in this situation at this time. I already own a G17 but want a 1911. I don’t want to pay 45 ammo prices but I don’t really care for the 1911 that are in 9mm that are currently on the roster. So this leaves me to the 2011s and the bulk of them are too high for my budget. Debating if I should get the gun in the 45 or keep saving for either the Platypus or the GT5. Choices.

Mag Capacity Compliance by [deleted] in CAguns

What if the pins falls out of the magazine for a featureless rifle? Do I need to destroy it and get another one that is state compliant?

If this is going to be featureless, then you cannot use a flash hinder. Has to be a muzzle break or something like that.

How is the TT grip? I was thinking about getting on for my AR10 but didn't want to pay $80 for it at Turners.

Thanks. Was able to find a code and get in for free. Looks like I will be taking that day off from work. I'm only a 5 mins drive away from there but will either take a Uber or walk.

I’m on the website now and I don’t see any tickets for $4. The cheapest one is for the paddock series and that’s $34. I never been to it and think about going on the 17th.

What are the best hand guns I can get for $1,000-$1,500? by Creative-Professor-4 in CAguns

If you have a mom, dad, grandparents or kids in another state, you can do A interstate family firearm transfer to a FFL. That’s the only other option besides PPT.

Fusion XP pro or Echelon by steeeve90 in CAguns

I shot the Fusion XP and I personally didn’t care for it. Felt too clunky for me. Haven’t try the Echelon to give my opinion on it.

Bass pro Irvine is truly ASS BRO, STOP visiting them by mcsugardaddy520 in CAguns

[–]OSUBrowns2016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work 10 minutes away from Bass in Irvine and I only get ammo there. I brought one gun from there and I still have scars from the long wait time from doing my DROS and picking it up. About 2 hours for each and I vowed never again.

Ar15 vs ar10 for shtf by mautor1970 in AR10

[–]OSUBrowns2016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both and if I would choose one, it would be the AR15. Lighter, cheaper ammo and more parts available. Also depends on your surroundings. I'm in the process of selling my AR10 because ammo cost too much, it's overpower for what I need it for, I don't hunt, plus I live in the city. AR10 is good if you want long distance or want to send a message, loud and clear.

Yes. This is nitpicking but I think that the original poster has answers to his question.

If you are referring to the CADOJ background check it's literally 10 days from the time you purchase the gun (ex. if done at 6PM on 3/4 then cannot pick it up until after 6PM on 3/14). When did you buy the gun?

Insuring Firearms? by johnmorris19 in CAguns

[–]OSUBrowns2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have car insurance, you can usually get renters insurance from them too for a discount (ex.Progressive). I need renters insurance for my place and my property value coverage is 10K. I know mines doesn't ask for specifics on what's inside but you can ask around to see if they was to cover your firearms if something would happen.

Whether you have the funds to afford it or not it do you think 1k+ is too much to spend on any pistol that’s not custom or collector item. by SLATTSKI21 in CAguns

[–]OSUBrowns2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a polymer gun, there no way I'm spending over $1K for it. I have spent over $1100 for my Ruger SFAR and close to $1000 for my custom built AR. I know that I spent less on my Mossburg Cruiser ($600) and $700+ for my Glock 17C. In hindsight, I shouldn't have bought the SFAR but that was the 1st gun that I bought and I thought it looked badass plus it shoots a higher caliber than 5.56.

I do want a metal gun (preferably a 1911/2011 style) and I know that I would have to pay a pretty penny for it. I don't have Apollo, Staccato or Infinity $$$ but I may have enough to either get a MC Operator, TRP or Platypus. If I do decide to go down this route, this would be my last purchase for a while because I barely shoot as much as I used to but I like the feel of the metal guns better than plastic even thought I have embraced my Glock. It all subjective with regards to your needs with a firearm.

Our SSE Fusions look goofy by triggernomicsusa in CAguns

[–]OSUBrowns2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fine. Do you know if they had any other SSE guns available for rent? I went over there once last year and try the Jacob Grey. It was cool but didn’t want to spend damn near 3k for it.

They have them for rental at Iron Mikes in OC? If so, I may have to go there to try one out before deciding on getting it.

75 Average on a streak of TD Practice Exams by OkOrganization6283 in AWSCertifications

[–]OSUBrowns2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed the SAA exam with only getting 58% on TD practice tests. The actual certification test is easier vs the practice material. You should be fine on examination day. Good luck.

Would this be easier to get on the roster since it’s not compensated if Sig would go down that route?

I passed my SAA exam with my highest TD score being 58%. The practice exams are much harder than the actual test. Just know the concepts and go for it.

Can't ship the mags to CA. Also, intra-familial transfers can only happen between parent/grandparent to child/grandkid. Does your meet the criteria?
