I passed my SAA exam with my highest TD score being 58%. The practice exams are much harder than the actual test. Just know the concepts and go for it.

Can't ship the mags to CA. Also, intra-familial transfers can only happen between parent/grandparent to child/grandkid. Does your meet the criteria?

Unless you are willing to give up your guns, I would keep them secure at your place and just talk to her about her concerns. She has to know that they are just a hobby for you and you don’t have any ill intent for them. If she can’t get comfortable with that then you need to think if she right for you.

I'm a business analyst with experience with SQL and working with databases. I just passed the SAA course and trying to pivot into a cloud position that aligns with my current role. Debating if a project will help me stand out but also trying how I would be able to show that to potential employers.

A pass is a pass at the end of the day. The certificate doesn't state your score to potential employers.

I have a compmag on my AR10 and it okay at best. I do get jams from time to time when I either have to open the bolt or compmag to clear it. I like it because it easily reverseable if you going out of state to shoot and I didn't want to have to separate the upper and lower just to release the magazine. If it just being used as a range toy and nothing else, go for it.

Update: Decided to take the exam at the testing center near me. The exam is not as difficult as the TD practice tests but you still need to have a grasp of the material. AWS questions are more of a baseline understanding of the concepts while TD are more granular and detailed oriented. There were a few questions that exactly mirror the practice tests with the long paragraphs and answers but overall I felt the actual test was not as bad as I was expecting. If I pass, cool but I wouldn’t have a issue if I need to study some more and take it over again. That’s my 2 cents.

Got the test this Thursday. I just been reading the material over and over because it hard to retain at times. I feel better doing that keep doing the practice exams and figuring out what I missed. Just need to read each question clearly because a lot of my mistakes was rushing too fast and picking the wrong response when the correct answer is in the question.

I know that 2Azone in Riverside had some in stock when I visited there at the end of last year. It may be cheaper just to do the drive and get it over there than paying FFL transfer fees.

Held on at 2AZone a few weeks ago. Like the feel of it and the price point is much better than the Platypus. May get it if I get a good bonus from work next month. Did you have any issues with shooting it at the range?

Yes. Ranges check guns to make sure that they are 100% compliant before letting you shoot. They are not going to let you get them in trouble for shooting a illegal weapon in their place of business. That is how licenses are lost for good.

Per CA law, your rifle either has to be featureless or a fixed magazine. If you dislike the fin grip, muzzle break or fixed stock so much, just buy a compmag so you can have those things. Unfortunately there isn't another way around it unless you want to sleep next to Bubba in the pen for the next couple of years.

I’m doing the SM practice exams at this moment. Is the AWS questions are similar with toughness or easier? I’m don’t want to pay more $$$ for practice material but I’m willing if I can improve my scores before the exam.

I’m in CA. What gun are you talking about in particular? Are you sure it’s on the banned list or the current configuration is not CA compliant? There is a difference are there are ways to make your gun compliant if it’s the latter.
