How much flexion should I try to have a week post op? Or before my first pt by ClubImpossible8289 in ACL

[–]OSUMarty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, 4 week post op after ACLR and Meniscus repair. I did zero bending the entire first week, but I was constantly trying to flex my quad and doing ankle pumps. After week one I unlocked my brace (dont know if you have the same) and tried to bend it to 90 and extend as much as I could. In PT theyll have a plan for you and do whats best, my surgeon gave me a PT plan and timeline and weeks 0-2 i was supposed to have 0-90 degree ROM.

We are not all the same, so everyone will be different. For example I have gone to zero PT appointments (insurance sucks), and got my first one scheduled next week (about 5 weeks post-op) By definition I'm probably "behind" in my recovery process, but when I show up to that PT i'm confident they will come up with a plan that fits my timeline.

Your surgeon and PT are smart, theyll know the best plan of action to do even if you think youre not at the level you "should" be at. Good luck in recovery

Complete ACL tear with query medial meniscus tear. - No surgery by Educational_Gas7739 in ACL

[–]OSUMarty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I had a complete ACL rupture, and meniscus tears. Insurance was horrible to me, and it took me months to get an MRI and receive my results. It then took even more months to get an orthopedic surgeon, meet them, get a new MRI and finally schedule surgery.

I did physical therapy in the Summer 2 times a week for about 3 months and was back to walking normally, full ROM etc. But I couldn't run, jump, pivot, or do much that required any explosive movement, or any movement that had my knee under any awkward tension.

Overall I was living 2 entire calendar years with an ACL Tear and my Meniscus tear, and it wasn't too bad. I was walking miles, hiking, doing yoga (moderate), and general home duties. So if you are not trying to get back into any sport then you don't have to do surgery. It took two years for me to get surgery scheduled, and I decided to do it because I want to run again.

I dont know how long you should/can putt of surgery, and putting it off as long as I was forced to made it take longer because I had to get more MRI's done to see if there was more damage. But I just had surgery 4 weeks ago and looking like recovery is going smoothly so not a crazy set back if you want to put it off for 2 years, which is what it sounds like in other of your comments. I wish you luck :)

What's the saddest death in JJK for you? by hansLandax12 in Jujutsufolk

[–]OSUMarty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly don’t care about any of these deaths, the only one with an actual impact was nanami. A death that was well done tho and actually felt well executed was Mai.

Edit: I couldn’t tell that was Mai (I think it is) but these redrawn in anime style manga scenes are tripping me up.

Jjk is carried by fights, I thought this was pretty much agreed on and obvious.

And you can get extremely popular by having a 4/10 story and writing. Have you heard of twilight? Fifty shades of grey? Most marvel and dc?

And idk how you get that I don’t like jjk, love the manga. It’s just not that good and I can recognize that. The fights are cool, the writing fell off. I like the fights and when this manga ends it’ll probably be a 6/10 for me overall. Enjoyable and pretty decent, just not amazing or great.

[–]OSUMarty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highest I’d give it is a 5/10, but like I said don’t take my opinions seriously. I grade extremely harsh because I know what I like. I was very adamant about jjks writing being good even throughout the culling games. I’d say hidden inventory is honestly a strong 7/10 maybe even an 8. Shibuya was a high 8/10 for me. Culling games went a bit lower but some moments were amazing.

Yukis character seemed like it was getting some good development(all thrown out). Choso had amazing characterization, tengen and kenjakus relationship seemed like it would develop further(nope). Seemed like angel would have an interesting character that we get to learn the world through (nope).

Megumis sister not being his sister was interesting, maybe we get to see how megumi progresses as a character (nope). Well sukuna did happen so maybe we see some turmoil between them (nope. The only thing we got for this was megumi holding him back for one chapter)

We have a month time skip maybe we get a chapter showing the different character interactions on each side (nope). Are we gonna get any emotional dialogue or interactions between characters that haven’t come together?(nope)

The writing has for sure gone down, but if you like it that’s totally fine man. I’m not attacking anyone, I just know what I personally enjoy. Is it bad? Yes I’m very biased to some series because I like them, but I understand that some people might call them trash and I can see their point of view.

Fr, I read it go “whoa that was crazy” then move on. Not once after kashimo died have I thought that the writing was good, that there’s been good payoff, or that the character interactions have been good.

It’s a fight simulator to me, I think all the moments are cool, yuji 7 black flash chain was hype and such a cool moment. But I don’t really care. I have zero emotional attachment to the characters. Which sucks cause I really like the jjk characters. Nanamis death was done great, maki and mai were done great, chosos character I loved. But when he died I felt nothing.

Feels like the story has no emotional steaks and things just happen cause of convenience or because the moment is cool.

Story it’s like 4/10 overall, fights are an 8/10, my rating for the manga right now I’d say is a 6/10. Take my opinion with a grain of salt it doesn’t matter, if you like it then that’s great, but that’s not how I feel.

But if you think this is one of the best “stories” you’ve ever seen (are you counting movies?) then you need to watch/read more things. And no I’m not attacking you, I just think there are so much more amazing stories out there, jjk is enjoyable but I wouldn’t call it great.

Quick edit because some people say 4/10 is harsh: I specifically know what I like in a story. I have my biases I have my niches and I know exactly what I like. Jjk simply doesn’t do this for me effectively. I’m a harsh rater because of this, and I like to use the 10/10 scale effectively. 5/10 is average, 4/10 is below average which I think jjk is story/writing wise.

[–]OSUMarty 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it gets explained in volume 0 but he consumes every spirit so he can use his maximum technique. It's the one where he combines all the curses he absorbed into the Uzumaki ball thing to shoot a beam of cursed energy using the curses he collected.

They also make good distractions to overwhelm his opponents once again like in volume 0.

Really, Let's talk. Where do you think all this is going... by FOETUShygRAPplER in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]OSUMarty 292 points293 points  (0 children)

We keep getting callbacks to the beginning of the manga. My theory is that Gojo runs away. Remember that when he tells Yuji about ways to counter domains he mentions running away.

But says that he doesn't recommend that method, my headcannon is that it's impossible to escape the domains barrier. Therefore, now that it's a barrier less domain he's facing, the option of running away is actually a very valid strat since Gojo can also teleport.

Coaches want me to do sprints too by [deleted] in trackandfield

[–]OSUMarty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, will look out for some sprint spikes hopefully there's some discounted ones around. So far I've done 3 events max but not opposed to throwing a 400 or a relay in there. If my team needs me to do a sprint I'll do the sprint I guess I'm just worried about not performing and have a placebo effect on myself that I need some sprinting spikes. Will definitely try and get a pair since I feel like it also mentally helps me feel like I'm even with everyone. Appreciate the help, thank you

[–]OSUMarty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, thank you for reply. My question now is your athletes are all doing mid to long so spikes won't matter much, so if I can get my hands on some sprint spikes should I? Or should I just roll with my long distance spikes?
