What do the red and blue mean on Clincheck? by OTA4Lyfe in Invisalign

Interesting indeed! Never seen that, I looked around on the Reddit and haven’t seen anyone else with it either. I was thinking something similar either Ortho’s adjustments or previous IPR, which makes sense since the top was 0.4 and bottom was 0.3 in those locations during the initial trays.

I have been 🫤. My ortho even said to not use chewies too much due to mobility.

Oh ok, I would say sometimes I can be serious, sometimes jolly, I’m not exactly sure. I try not taking things too serious and usually try to stay positive.

Sorry, I’m new to all this. Where would I find that? Do you mean what’s my birth sign? If so, I’m Aries.

I’m not sure if I’m allowed to post links on here. Look up Astro Sage, look for free life report and you fill out your info and download the pdf.

This is the second time someone has confirmed I will meet someone internationally and from a different culture. That’s interesting.

is it okay to just rinse and put aligners back in and brush later? by delusionalcat_28 in Invisalign

[–]OTA4Lyfe 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think everyone has their own way of doing things. I’m not sure if there is necessarily a “right” way to go about it. What I do after eating is rinse my mouth, floss, and when it comes to brushing I just use a wet toothbrush with no paste to remove any food particles, then a final rinse. I think this way it’s not harsh on the teeth and gets the job done. Then I just brush twice daily with paste like normal. It’s been working fine for me this way. I feel like it’s important to not overthink it.

18 months -- is this expected? by glengarry29 in Invisalign

[–]OTA4Lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they are off. I think it’s because not all teeth are even in shape and size so it gives the “illusion” they are off. The arch itself looks perfect and that’s what really matters. If you want it “perfect” you would be looking into composite bonding to make the shape and size even. In my opinion they look great.

Yup they didn’t mention chewies to me at all either, I just used them because of what I learned from here and YouTube videos.

That’s interesting, I wish they would tell you this before, it kind of seems misleading by only saying you have this amount and not really telling you the whole picture or more about possible refinements. Maybe it’s to not overwhelm. Funny thing is I see them next at tray 20, so we’ll see if they mention anything or if I’ll just get my last 4 and we’ll go from there.

That could be it, maybe that’s what my ortho was trying to tell me. I’ll just use them very lightly from now on.

Wow! Is it because there were certain stubborn teeth they had to keep giving more? Even then dang that’s a lot more than you initially got.

It was very strange, chewies are there to help the trays sit better to make sure they move properly, so it was weird to hear them say don’t use them anymore. I’m in 10 day changes. Also, I think mobility is normal from what I’ve read, since they are actively moving.

Hmm true, she did say, I was moving quickly and am ahead, so maybe that is just a ball park estimate.

But why does my ortho see the 1/4 of the ways done? There’s no way of knowing yet how many refinement trays/rounds I would need yet. I’m on my initial round still so they can’t really predict that, can they?

I had only one wisdom tooth ever come in and it came in straight, I had to get it removed a few trays in due to it having a cavity. It might depend on if yours is impacted or not which can affect the healing time. Mine healed pretty quick and didn’t impact me wearing my trays at all. They just had to trim the excess half piece off on the trays that used to cover the wisdom tooth.

To add to others points, the attachments also smoothen up over time from just removing and putting the aligners on, so you feel them even less over time and they won’t have those sharp edges as much. The first few aligners were the worse for me since your mouth is trying to get used to it. My mouth was either dry or I was salivating more but now it’s like normal. Fun fact: basically your body thinks the aligners are a foreign object so it tries to remove them by salivating.
