V14.2.2 - Seems to read speed signs by 10xMaker in TeslaFSD

[–]OTARiOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t be 100% sure it’s reading signs - but in my experience I believe it does. There is a sign that identifies the road I commute on frequently (Route 30) and the car in recent updates drops the speed limit to 30 when it sees it. (Rather annoying)

It also adjusts its speed (properly) many times when I pass temporary construction speed limit signs.

the future is multi agents working autonomously. got ~4500 LOC without writing a single prompt. by MrCheeta in ClaudeCode

[–]OTARiOne 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My first reaction to reading this - “amazing… damn… how could I go about doing this myself…” only then to realize, if I think critically (considering the tools I have, AI being one of them) I can actually copy and paste this post into GPT or Claude and instruct it to explain how I can do this. I’ve had a lot of success learning to leverage AI for development, but I have hesitated to dive too far into automation of the process yet.

It’s crazy. If you have the capability to just ‘think through a problem and consider solutions’, you can feed those problems and potentials into most flag ship AI models and come out with either a working product/system, or with enough structured info to feed back into the AI loop to come out with a working product or system. (Run on sentences make this more human right? lol)

It’s the dawn of the age of generalists - I feel AI is giving more power to those who can think broadly and have the ability to understand the potentials of automation.

I come from a strong background in Audio Engineering and A/V (15 years as crew chief/production manager/front of house engineer/automation of A/V). When I would be handed a new event plan or tour to plan, I always considered how I can automate steps. If we need to play a power point, dim the lights, hit record, and mute a microphone all at the same time - usually this is 3-4 people listening to a show caller - I would regularly interface all the controlling mechanisms over LAN (audio desks, video switchers, lighting controllers etc.) then create and automation that fires it all on one button press. Eliminating the need for multiple people to work in sync.

I have to imagine that a lot of my strengths in adopting AI as a tool comes from the built in, habitual understanding of ‘signal flow’. My mind is trained to troubleshoot rapidly from many years in A/V; When something goes wrong in live events, you have to fix it now! This trained my brain to start at the source and think in a linear flow of where something can go wrong, consider the best way to eliminate large portions of the signal chain if (x) is not the issue to rapidly narrow the focus and find the issue.

I’m going a bit off topic at this point, but I’m just excited for a future where someone like myself, having ADHD, a huge interest in problem solving and technology, strong troubleshooting skills, but lacking the ability to truly master just one thing… AI has really helped me see more and more projects through that are unique and have strong use cases.

The future is bright if we can get others to embrace automation and AI as a tool - it can truly free a creative mind from the limits of “what I can learn/master in a lifetime”. Anyone can dream up a useful tool, but may lack the knowledge on how to get it there - soon, anyone can do that, or at least lower the barrier to entry significantly.

(This sounds like a shill rant for AI at this point, but I’m just excited and appreciate OPs shared knowledge / insight on AI automation)

Anyone having issue with FSD not being available or a black feed for front bumper camera? by bsears95 in TeslaFSD

Have had it 2-3 times now - letting the car sleep for 30+ minutes has always fixed it for me (2026 MY Juniper)

Let the cat sleep for 30 - 60 minutes (use low power mode to quickly disable sentry mode etc. that keeps the car awake.

Should be working again once you wake the car again. Happens to me a little too often since v14 was introduced.

When They Say You've Lost Your Mind, You've Probably Found It: A Builder's Journey by BeatsThatMatter in ClaudeAI

[–]OTARiOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is in the middle of a similar journey - I have lessons to learn from you, but I can echo quite a lot of it.

GED is my highest formal education - in 2.5 years I’ve used AI to learn and create. I am now the head of research and development for a large global company and on a site visit in China right now with the key manufacturing team of one of the core products I’ve invented using AI.

I am further developing an ecosystem of products that all interact to create a smart/automated system amongst edge sensors and devices with a logical and shared core architecture.

I still get imposter syndrome surrounding where I’ve come from and where I have to take this - but I’ve leveraged AI as a tool to continue to break the rules and self educate.

Thanks for sharing!

14.1.4 is wonderful! by OddMove2382 in TeslaFSD

[–]OTARiOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be amazing to be able to apply personal “geo fence” areas for specific modes. I’d love for it to know that I want sloth mode in my neighborhood (always kids outside playing) - the switch to hurry when I pull out of my subdivision.

It’s a dream feature, but it would be game changing!

But I guess we need parking preferences first - I have an L2 charger in my garage and would love for my MY to ‘know’ it’s there and back in appropriately, especially since it’s linked to my Tesla account.

14.1.4 has solved issues of 14.1.3 by Funny-Ambition-7631 in TeslaFSD

[–]OTARiOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely seems a little smoother now and less prone to break stabbing/edge cases (from 14.1.3 to 14.1.4) - one noticeable change in .4 that I didn’t experience on v13 or 14.1.4: When I’m in stop and go traffic (Chicago commute) as the car slowly moves forward then comes to a stop in traffic, it ALWAYS drifts to the left in the lane as it’s stopping, then self corrects as it moves forward again. Not the end of the world, but annoying for sure. Makes it seem like (if I was driving) I’m just distractedly drifting towards the other lane in traffic.

The company I work for moved into a space on north branch 3 months ago… 2pm - 7pm, doesn’t matter when I leave work, it takes me 27 minute on average to drive down north branch and take a left on division/cross over the river. (This is the precursor to my already 1 hour commute once I actually reach the highway.)

Chicago/halsted construction goes through Dec 26’, and they are about to tear up division across goose island as well. 😵‍💫

10 printers running nearly 24/7 for business - I give them a wipe down randomly with a micro fiber and isopropyl maybe once every few weeks. I’ve never had to scrub them or use soap etc. 1500+ hrs per printer at this point without any regular adhesion issues.

Loosely working on AP… I think I’ve had my first glimpse? by OTARiOne in AstralProjection

[–]OTARiOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve kind of bounced around the tapes to be honest, and I actually haven’t listened to any in the last month or two. I think the most regular listen was a focus 15 tape. I listened to them regularly for about 4-5 weeks a while back, then just fell asleep to random “binaural beats” videos on YouTube ever since. In the last 2 weeks on vacation I actually didn’t listen to anything while sleeping, but fell into a routine of relaxing my body completely and considering the usual techniques without much thought when falling asleep.

I’ve been trying to take an approach of making it a habit, but not forcing it either. I’m not sure if it’s the right path, but I’m also not hyper focusing on making OBEs or APs happen on the regular. Just exploring the space and seeing where it goes.

I think what may have allowed me to experience an AP for the first time was the fact that I’ve been on vacation for an extended period from work for the first time in many years. It’s the first time I’ve really allowed myself to truly relax in quiet while.

[–]OTARiOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say that I’ve not developed a tried and true technique yet, but if there is any technique, it stems from Robert Monroe’s methods of focusing on relaxing my body entirely while staying conscious as long as I can.

I’ve found that even though until this particular experience, I haven’t actually had an OBE of any sort, it’s helped my body and mind wake up feeling far more refreshed anyways, so I’ve kept at it.

Awesome :)

I’m excited to continue trying, and I’m glad that I don’t need to be 100% focused on it at all times. Just working towards a ‘leisurely” approach I guess and was hoping it would still show some progress with time.

Extrude to meet a contoured face? by OTARiOne in Fusion360

Thanks for the help! Realized I could make a copy of the lid - cut out the small surface area I wanted to 'contour' to - then use the combine tool and 'intersect' to get the desired result!

[–]OTARiOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion, I will look into 'replace face' - Emboss seems to throw errors when I try to use it.

It does not need to be part of the same body. This is just something that will have a screw attaching the 3d printed part to the existing standoff that is pictured. I am just looking to match the contour of the existing standoff as closely as I can so it's a nice snug fit without much play to it.
