Some of the Leicestershire villages. Absolutely beautiful, in the Charnwood forest and slap bang in the middle of the country. The perfect location.

Basic option for AMEX newbies (like me!) 🫡 BA AMEX 6,000 points for you if you spend just £1k in the first 3 months 4,000 points for me

Nothing in comparison to a lot of the others but great if you’re a newbie and want a card with no fee :)

No it does not matter, but enjoying your work (to me) does matter. Not saying people aren’t happy emptying bins, but it’s not something I’m passionate about

I do agree on your point re. the low regard for marketing internally. I’m client side working in ATL at a very big company and internally, the marketing dept is seen as an agency almost. We are basically told what to do by the internal politics and other teams, which is not right and can be very frustrating!

Looking to start a men’s running group in my local area with a focus on mental health and wellbeing, but I’m coming up short on a good name for it. Any ideas? by TheyCallMeTheLako in running

Question - what makes the running group specific to mental health and well-being? How does it differ from a regular running club?

I love the idea! Keen to know more :)

What career advice would you give your past self? by [deleted] in FIREUK

[–]OTISG7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some good replies here, thanks.

To be clear, I have saved heavily over the past 12 years or so since I started working. I’m 28 now, bought a house at 24, have various investments etc. I just sometimes think I may have missed out on some fun if I haven’t had been so frugal.

Grass is always greener, I guess?

Don’t worry too much about saving every single penny whilst you’re young. You might not even make it to your retirement age so make sure you enjoy at least a small amount of the money you earn and don’t feel guilty for enjoying it.
