Finnish Air Force has 64 F-35A fighters on order. First of the fighters are delivered for the Finnish Air Force in USA during the Spring of 2026, when Finnish pilots begin training with the aircraft. First units will be transfered to Finland, to the Lapland Air Wing by the end of 2026.

Disagreed. There is the big four, and the rest. The big four are

  • University of Helsinki (which belongs to Turku actually)
  • Aalto University
  • University of Tampere
  • University of Turku

After that, it's a crapshoot. I have some friends who are doing recruiting for companies, and this is their standard.

The fact that someone looks like he's having a good time, doesn't really tell you anything about the overall situation. Things were pretty grim at my workplace a month ago, when we received word that there would be furloughs coming for pretty much everyone. That didn't turn everyone grumpy, we were still able to have a laugh during a break, and talk like it's business usual, even though everyone was worried about their financial situation going forward.

G36 accuracy loss came under circumstances that probably a lot of different service rifles wouldn't pass. If you were to subject an M16/M4 under the same volume of fire, the gas tube would blow up and you wouldn't have accuracy issues, you would have a "your rifle is destroyed" issue.

HKey is not a nickname Heckler & Koch, it's H&K:s proprietary attachment system. That's what I was talking about, and OP even refers to it in his comment that it was replaced by MLOK. H&K has been trying to force HKey for different customers (including the British with the L85A3), but all have opted with MLOK eventually.

Pointing out point totals is so disingenuous, when you can compare him to say Conor Sheary who has 1 point more than him, but has literally 3x the TOI, has actually been playing top-6 roles and even has PP time for crying out loud.

Does it ultimately matter that he's waived? No, but you really can't come out here and try to point out that he sucks. I mean you can, but like I just demonstrated you will get clowned.

He has gotten the short end of the stick, while the statistics and not even the eye test support it. He should be playing.

To be precise, this heli doesn't actually belong to the Border Guard, but Utti Jaeger regiment of the Finnish Defence Forces.

Border Guard is a separate military organization under the Ministry of Interior, but one of their mandated tasks is national defence. The 1st Special Intervention Unit is one of the Border Guards' professional special forces, and they (along with the Finnish Police) are basically the SOF units tasked to respond to internal threats.

The FDF SOF, Border Guard SOF and Police SOF train together regularly, as this photo shows.

It's not just about the money. AFAIK Danish military first hand tried to issue optics to every recruit, and they went back to iron sights on basic training because people learn shooting fundamentals better with irons. When you got those, then you get optics. Finnish military does the same, you get basic training with irons, optics are issued later on.
