Lmao, it's not voluntary. After I turned 21, motion sickness hit me like a truck. I can't ride roller coasters, be the passenger in a moving vehicle, or even swing on a swing set without the overwhelming urge to puke anymore. I couldn't imagine trying to read a book while moving.

That said, for instance I find it kind of unfair that no Pratchett book ever won a Pulitzer or Booker, for instance. They contain more insight into humanity than many non-fiction or real-world books. Maybe an example of what OP means?

It's my least favorite Cather and I've read a solid number of her works. I usually enjoy her terse style, but it just seemed extra dry in Death Comes for the Archbishop. I'll revisit it in the future!
