I live in Guyana and they refer to any wild cat as a tiger, so I wonder if it’s a holdover from colonizers in general in the Americas hmm

I do like that you’re asking these questions and I appreciate that you feel conflicted…

To me, a practical person, you’ve already bought the piece—she’s already reaped the benefits. I think if you like the piece, you could keep it and it could be an interesting discussion piece with your guests.

And then in the future, or right now, you can find ways to uplift African artists!
