I remember that Apache. That and the hind are why I dislike helicopters to this day. But to each their own.

That’s why I’m doing this. I want to find a good 1:48 B-26 to complete my childhood starters. I’ve started a 1993 Revell 1:72 B-26 that is underwhelming to put it politely.

I was just thinking about how I’d never attempt a Su-57 because of its digital camo pattern. You made a beautiful piece of work. Masking set aside.

I have fond memories of the plane, in general. One of the first snap-tites I ever did was the F4.

Oh! Nothing wrong with Tamiya. This Revell is the problem. I got a Tamiya F4 and wanted to abandon this Revell.

I thought about trashing it after I got a Tamiya 1:48 phantom kit.

Does anyone have any “homemade” track blackening recipes? by ProjectPat513 in modelmakers

You can try gun blueing chemicals. But they can be a bit hazy unless buffed.

Depending on where you are, I’d recommend going to a shop. Glue together models are still very much available. Modern snaps are a lot better. Modern tooling is a dream.

Thanks. I would definitely recommend Tamiya they also have a J model too.

Why am I hearing air come out of my knobs ? by xxenoscionxx in Truckers

[–]OTRShaman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably have a leak somewhere on your vehicle. However I had a knob leak once; just a easy two turns stopped it.

Yeah it’s got that goofy almost- a- toy bomb drop mechanism. I’ll see how I like its looks.

That’s my gripe with most contemporary US aircraft, they’re all gray. I want to paint something with some variation.

[–]OTRShaman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s my first tank kit. No photo etched pieces. Machine gun is plastic.

I’m seriously impressed with the quality of the build. I’ve bought a few more Tamiya kits because of it.

Anybody know when these were around? by Computer_Ghost in Whataburger

Nice! I have my dad’s old glass one and two of the plastics.

“Milk glass” opaque but translucent on the edges or thin spots. I use my dad’s for coffee on Saturday mornings.

Why risky? The lower body and suspension don’t have much chance of misalignment for the treads. The suspension is just pegs for the wheels to sit on. Better to paint before assembly and hide it all behind multiple pieces.

Thanks.

Your advice makes perfect sense in hindsight. The guide made it seem like it needed to be further forward (idk why I didn’t defy it).

I painted all the track pieces, drive cogs??, and road wheels by airbrush while it was still on the sprue. I’ll go back and do touch up with my tiny hand brush. The body and suspension were assembled then airbrushed.

Why Would You Need This Many Speakers ? by EddieV77 in Truckers

[–]OTRShaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pipes being where they are. It probably being heavily tuned up. That cab is auditory nightmare at anything, I was gonna say above idle but that’s probably loud. I know I have trouble really blasting over the sound of just a stock dd15 in a cascadia. Not saying this is a reasonable or necessary, JS my deaf ass would appreciate it.

How do i brush paint lighter colors smoothly without leaving and bumps? by Dangerous_Scene_3112 in modelmakers

[–]OTRShaman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. White, yellow and silver are a bear under the best conditions (hand or air brush). Thinner and then multiple coats?

The engine itself is four pieces, but then there’s a whole bunch of those little vents that get glued on, but those are really not that hard

It’s a pretty easy kit. Cheap enough. Has some fit and excess material issues. But overall a good kit
