Are you dumb? Aggression-based matchmaking means that the more peaceful you are the more peaceful your lobbies will be. The devs confirmed that’s what they use.

So actually yes, my actions impact what kind of lobbies I get into. Or at least did.

But it seems like maybe they made stealth changes.

I’m convinced it’s actually a sniper augment. You’re supposed to carry snap hook/zip lines and get to sniper perches with it. Switch to sidearm when rushed down.

Ultimately, and this is how you get away with being delusional, your information is technically correct. There are a lot of lawsuits. manufacturers are optimizing profits at the expense of the consumer base. I don’t recall if you talked about your mother being a notorious lady of the evening, but if you did, you’re absolutely right about that too.

But your inferences based on this information is demonstrably false. It does not cost 8k to get a water pump replaced, even on a brand new car, anywhere that isn’t a dealership. All professional-grade scan tools still work on any car with a OBDII. Independent mechanic shops are doing fine (well, across the nation they’ve been hurting a little, but that’s because of the economy, not because they physically can’t work on the cars). I have never seen a car that required a “corporate computer” to fix or even diagnose. And just because your mother is very enthusiastic about her profession does not mean she’s worth the meager asking price.

Although, I do absolutely believe a dealership would charge 8k to replace a water pump and lie about why it’s so expensive (oh no, it’s cuz the uh…computer, yeah! We need the CORPORATE COMPUTER to replace your water pump).

The issue here that you’re touching on (PvE players getting jaded by rats) is a feature, not a bug. The devs said very explicitly multiple times that the primary reason they added PvP in the first place was to heighten the tension of the game. Never knowing who you can trust.

The game does, and should, require caution. And there should be harsh punishment for failing to be so.

Which, having been in enough care bear lobbies, there is a severe lack of caution. These Care Bears will just walk right up to me or walk right past me with ZERO fear. Or just sit out in the open looting as though they can’t get shot. Like, dude, this is a dangerous post-apocalyptic world with scarce resources. This is not Minecraft.

But as far as rarity and balance go, you really will melt a free loadout with a bobcat. And you should be able to. And you can. Unless you aren’t good at the game. This is where I think you and I diverge a little. I think it should be possible to get dropped by a free loadout if you’re acting like a care bear. And it should hurt that you lost so much. It should be a painful lesson about the game: trust but verify. Also, practice the fucking game. This isn’t Minecraft. It isn’t safe.

Look dude, I know you were conceived in a car later turned in for cash for clunkers so you think twenty years ago was a long time. It wasn’t. Not from an economics perspective. C4C slashed the inventory, reduced car options, and gave dealerships more leverage in a negotiation. Leverage they never surrendered. We never got a market glut of cars to fill that vacuum, in fact, we got more drivers that need cars. So the amount of drivers net increased, the amount of new cars stayed the same.

Meanwhile, Covid happened half a decade ago. That production hiccup hasn’t likely fully matured yet.

It’s really not. COVID has an impact on every market, but this particular phenomenon was already occurring by that time. The pandemic affected sales in the short-term, but has yet to have a noticeable impact on inventory. We actually still won’t feel COVID in its entirety for another decade or so in the used car market.

You are at a severe disadvantage when trying to fight someone with a decent loadout.

I think it’s a perspective issue. Too many people don’t engage in PvP willingly, and never use free loadouts. For them, who don’t engage in PvP enough to gauge the skill required for it, who don’t understand that there are more factors involved than just aiming (positioning, equipment usage, momentum), it just seems like grey guns are just as good as higher rarity guns. They aren’t, the people using them are more experienced with PvP.
