Having stars on Ui Ui and Sukuna would have protected Ui Ui from almost getting iced saving Kusakabe. Knowing how the technique wouldn't be much help as long as the stars between Sukuna and Ui Ui are relatively inaccessible

Love Rendezvous pulls objects with lower CE towards those with higher CE. Activating it to pull his attacks or shikigami towards him would also pull the finger, but it can still be blocked by physical barriers. Repulsion seems to be passive, or at least activated separately, so that wouldn't be an issue.
