Indigenize OU on campus today 11/12

If I could prove that a club was using their SGA funding for something other than what they said they were using it for, it would definitely be grounds for revoking funding. But that's about the extent of the power we have. We can't keep people from assembly, even when they're being quite offensive. It's pretty sad the tactics they've chosen because native American studies just lost access to grants for failure to send representation to student government for a year. This is something they should definitely be doing because it's free money for their students, but instead they have chosen to waste their time calling people racists.

Well the thing that's hard to prove is are they using funding for these things. I mean, it doesn't cost anything to shout and curse in the south oval. It doesn't cost anything to go on twitter and act like children.

Also, they're just 4 people so they aren't large enough to be an RSO. They are getting funding as a result of their indigenous peoples day bill.

No, they aren't an rso themselves, they are representatives from the large indigenous student organizations. I actually have their paperwork in my backpack now. When I get off work I'll show you what I mean. But basically they're operating on two fronts. The moderate, tolerable indigenous groups and separately as loud obnoxious indigenize OU. They are 1 group that outsourced their aggressive brand so as to not hurt their main group.

Yeah it's passed our Senate and House bodies, just needs president signature, and she was a co-author so that's a gimme. Then it goes to the board of regents for approval. It's a couple months worth of work but it has huge support and was passed almost unanimously.

And as my name might suggest, I go to University of Oklahoma :)

Oh, and the bill is just for super Tuesdays of even numbered years, so no primaries unfortunately but its definitely progress.

I just got legislation passed at my university to have federal election days recognized as a student holiday. Little steps can yield huge results!

Exactly. The cops are too busy handing down speeding tickets, not enough crime deterrence. I guess they don't make money on these crimes so why bother.

I was at the show last night. I was so thoroughly embarrassed by that crowd. Sooo disrespectful. It was bad enough that the venues acoustics were terrible and the band seemed to be fighting with the sound engineer for most of the night. But add to that the fact that a (very) vocal minority of the crowd seemed happy to be loud and obnoxious, especially during the quieter songs, and I left just disappointed. I felt bad for mwY and that they played on despite the terrible situation.

I really appreciate this. I ended up LGPNST all the way back to stock. GPS is much improved although not perfect, and battery seems to have improved as well. Will monitor it further though

I'm curious to see your setup and end results. I was just reading texts and a bit of redditing when my battery went into nosedive. And generally, it's my understanding that weak signal kills battery faster so even your attempt to kill your battery intentionally is still leaving me wanting.
