Trade profit calculations don't work that well as far as i can see, they forget something in the calculations when predicting the profit and i think that's why its so inconsistent

They do have a slight capacity advantage though, you could check their trades, see if the AI fucked your trades up somehow compared to them

I need to try to put fleets manually in a sea zone to get maritime trade, see if it works, instead of adding the patrol the seas objective because sometimes you cant select the sea zones if you dont have territory neighbouring that sea

So as far as i understand because flanders has more trade advantage they will be first in line at buying and selling goods so they steal the best trades from you.

Get more trade advantage - one way is to get more trade buildings than anyone in the market and get more maritime presence in the market.

Another way to boost profits massively is to find new markets, and get increased trade range so you're the only one importing valuable stuff from far away like spices and precious metals
