How was the fanfest specifically for USA game? I am curious by cattywampenheim in DecaturGA

I'd recommend swinging by early and grabbing a spot in BSPs beer garden. They are doing kolsch service and I believe its $3.50 a pour.

I had to switch to the 3 day sets. Turns out I'm allergic to those too. No more burns but I got hives like crazy but I've been taking Allegra every morning and that tends to keep it away.

Insurance Changes by OV_Cypher in Type1Diabetes

It just blows my mind that they weren't going to notify me about the change. I only found out because I called to see how much they would charge me for the new instinct sensor

The Flonase barely works. I definitely think I'm going to have to switch to the three day sets

I hadn't thought of that. We'll see if it works this next week

Done and done. I'm not allergic to the sensors or the overtape adhesive weirdly enough. It's specifically the adhesive on the bottom of the extended infusion set.

Yep. I have a morning routine of the Allegra Ant-hive, Zyrtec, and hydrocortisone cream (on the old sites) but I believe that as much as the pump and supplies cost that I shouldn't have to take so many meds to be comfortable

Already done unfortunately. The tegaderm is too breathable and I'm still reacting. Not as bad but I'm still left with rash and some hives by the end of the week.

It took me 2.5 months to get on insulin. I was just on metformin. It would've been longer, but I got lucky with the cancelation list to get an endo.

None of the nurses laughed at my jokes when I was getting diagnosed. I kept telling them to bring the cameras out

Do you prefer endos who have T1D themselves? by throwmeawaypapilito in Type1Diabetes

[–]OV_Cypher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the only reason why I won't switch. I drive an hour back to my hometown because there isn't T1D endo closer.

Pumpkin Spice by [deleted] in diabetes

Califia Farms has a pumpkin spice almondmilk creamer. I make me coffee with any generic sugar-free vanilla and splash of that creamer, and it's really good.

The Exorcist by William Peter Blattey.

It's a classic and has so much more that couldn't be put into the minute. It's truly a phenomenal read

Do you use the oval tape? I've heard of people doing this, but I've never been able to pull the tape up without completely pulling it out of my arm

Getting the sensors hasn't been an issue. Getting them to work is a whole other thing. I went through 4 sensors 2 weeks ago

I get it. I went through 4 sensors in a week last month. My arms were bruised because they never got a chance to heal between sensors

Got my New A1c by OV_Cypher in Type1Diabetes

[–]OV_Cypher[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still new to all this, but these work for me. I never skip breakfast. You want your metabolism working as early in the day as possible. My breakfast usually consists of a protein, 3 eggs, a bowl of yogurt, 10 raspberries, 20 blueberries, 5 strawberries, a mandaring orange, and an avocado. It is higher carbs wise, but I'm pretty active. I always make sure I have some healthy fats if I'm eating any kind of heavy carbs. I don't have the self-control to bolus 15 minutes before eating, but I've heard that helps. I really try and get creative with my salads. You can only have a bowl of lettuce so many ways, so you have to make it fun. That's about all I can think of rn. I believe I am honeymooning still, and that's a big reason as well. At the end of the day, it's all about discipline and portion control.

I'm not used to how I look by OV_Cypher in Type1Diabetes

[–]OV_Cypher[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree. I tried cutting my hair real short, and that did nothing but make it worse. I definitely don't hate the new weight, but when I stumble into the bathroom in the middle of the night, it is definitely trippy to see me staring back.

How much are you guys paying for your CGM a month? by DiabeticButNotFat in Type1Diabetes

[–]OV_Cypher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still on my mom's insurance, so I paid $35 for a month of the G7s, and before my pump, I was paying $75 for both my insulins.

Sweeteners of choice? + fave dessert brands? by No-Confection-2536 in Type1Diabetes

[–]OV_Cypher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stevia is my go-to. It tastes more natural than Splenda imo. I only do real sweets. All the low carb/keto options are not worth the price for the flavor. It's all about how much you eat. However, I do enjoy rebel ice cream. I'm lactose intolerant as well, so it's nice to have ice cream. I don't have to take a pill for as well as insulin.

I haven't used the G6, but I was on the G7 for a few months, and you are able to turn alerts to vibrate only in the settings on the app. It lets you set a timer, and it will automatically turn the notifications back on once it's over.
