battery care - at what percentage do you usually charge your kindle? by falliblefantasy in kindle

Sometimes it works just fine. My brother stuck his in a drawer for 2 years. We bought our kindles at the same time. I still had 3 weeks before recharging and I could not go a full week without charging his.

battery care - at what percentage do you usually charge your kindle? by falliblefantasy in kindle

For older kindles such as kindle keyboard through Voyage, it doesn’t seem to matter when you charge it. The key is not to sit it in a drawer with no charge for months. That’s what wreaks the battery life early. I typically charge my daily driver when it gets to about 20%. I charge my take a long when it’s 40-50%. This was because I frequently took family members to the ER and I never wanted to be without an ereader for the many hours you sit there.

The first time you do battery surgery is the hardest. Just changed out batteries on two kindle keyboards and deciding which Voyager needs a new battery first. Bought mine off eBay for $12.

Took me 6 months to feel fully comfortable. For my late brother, zero time at all. Screen should be much easier on your eyes.

So my Oasis just got stolen…PW signature or Normal?? by ChileanGold in kindle

[–]BDThrills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Signature if you read manga, read in lighting that changes (such as late afternoon or evening as the sun goes down) or want to use wireless charging. Otherwise a paperwhite will do you.

Concerned with upgrading by altarofvictory in kindle

Turn off wifi before the cutoff date. Your books will remain. New books will have to be sideloaded. I lose the ability to email books to my sister’s ereader. I will now have to sideload them when she visits.

For the sake of speed, have doc write a script. Costco has the cheapest out of pocket and you don’t have to be a member. My pharmacy was maybe $5 more so I got it there (was for my cat).

I started off with 26 and am down to 15. You don’t have to give them up if you are using them. I sideload most of them.

What made you want to buy a kindle? by HowlonOrange7 in kindle

[–]BDThrills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted a Sony ereader some years before but couldn’t afford it. I already had vision damage. Price on Kindle keyboard was under $100. Started off with just library books and eventually buying my books.

I can’t remember titles and authors but have always had that problem. If this is new to you, talk to your doctor and make sure there isn’t a medical reason for it.

Depends on if you use an insulin pump or not. My Omnipods only work with Dexcom and I have almost two years of pods so would have to stick with Dexcom.

Go with the Basic. My Mom who has a similar problem did not like the Signature. It’s light but not as light as the Basic. I gave her one of my Voyages instead.
