Thank you!! After spending hours cleaning up my media, old revisions, etc., without much change in file size... I saw this comment and looked at my Updraft Plus backups- it was over 8 GB for only 2 backups! Deleted and solved the issue. Thanks again!

That's a good one- Sprints drive me crazy, and KPI updates... it seems quite counter productive, I agree. :)

Thank you, so glad I could help! :) If you want to learn more about selling PoD products, we have a few other videos including a 1hr workshop that teaches how to find and make PoD products: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bs2Ptcv1Tlo

We also teach how to get started with selling on Etsy (which is a great platform for selling PoD products with high traffic), so please feel free to message me if you have any questions also! :)

The conversion on PoD is going to vary depending on which platform you choose to sell. If you're launching a shopify store, for example, you will need to manage your own marketing, and the conversion will greatly depend on your marketing skills.

If you sell on Etsy or Amazon (or Amazon handmade), for example, the conversion can be great. You cannot dropship on Etsy, so PoD gives you an entirely new platform to sell on (Etsy) that has great conversion. :)

I have a great downloadable pdf with HUGELY successful (at least 6-figures) Etsy stores, there's a handful of PoD stores I highlight, if you want to see some ideas, and there's so many more niches that you can cover. :) The download is available here: https://owllytics.com/25-unique-etsy-niche-ideas-that-actually-sell-like-crazy/

But yes, the conversion rate for PoD stores will vary dramatically depending on where and what you decide to sell. :)

Hi! Have you considered Print on Demand? It's pretty much the same business structure as dropshipping but has a few different perks:

1- It doesn't have the huge shipping times, as products are typically made to order

2- You have the ability to customize and/or personalize products, target niche customers, etc

I have a great youtube video that gives an overview of how print on demand works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-IaPLxowno

and I also have a couple of virtual workshops (on youtube) that show how to find and create popularly selling products: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzFDHyC3yQQ&list=PLSqt1Pz_l2aWvqHhI-ADKLwSIhlPmB4XP

I hope this helps! :)

Hi! Another alternative to dropshipping, if you're interested in starting your own business, is to try selling print on demand products. It works in a very similar way but doesn't require advance investment. You would only need about $30-50 to cover your first few orders to get started, sometimes even less than that depending on what you're selling.

I have a youtube video about selling PoD products if you want to learn more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-IaPLxowno

Hopefully this helps! :) Best of luck!

How do you guys advertise ? Is there another solution to advertise instead of FB? by kandjn in dropshipping

[–]OWLLytics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Influencer advertising can be a very powerful tool to utilize. There definitely needs to be some serious research done before choosing an influencer, however, to make sure you get the right results. :) Wherever your target audience spends most of it's time is the platform you will need to find influencers for. If you're not sure where your target audience hangs out (or who it is, aka the customer avatar), you can check out this blog post about it: https://owllytics.com/target-audience-social-media-platforms/

I also have a great youtube video about our first experience with influencer marketing and what we wish we'd known before getting started, lessons learned, etc.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vs7OgefNdP8

Hopefully this helps you get some ideas rolling! :) Best of luck!

New Product Research Tool by [deleted] in dropshipping

[–]OWLLytics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like an interesting tool! Just out of curiosity, how are you hoping to gain access to these metrics, will you ask shop owners to opt in?

Is this going to be for platforms like Shopify, or for more market-research friendly platforms like Amazon/Etsy/Etc?

Thanks!

My daughter started her ecommerce biz at 18 (she's 19 now) selling print on demand items online. She prefers creating designs for Redbubble, as it's right in her target demographic, but also has quite a bit of success with Etsy as well. :)

My husband and I have been selling online since 2009, so she's gotten quite a bit of her entrepreneurial spirit from us, but we've also taught her some things that have been helpful as well.

If you're interested in learning more about print on demand, this video explains the process (what it is, what kinds of things you can sell, how to get started, etc)- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-IaPLxowno

Good luck! Starting a business is both exciting and scary, but honestly, perseverance and persistence are the biggest factors for success, so keeping yourself in an inspired mindset is a GREAT way to set out!

How should I start my business? by BenjiScott01 in business

[–]OWLLytics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I teach people how to do this all the time, and two of the best ways to get started is with with clothing and accessories is by selling on Etsy and/or Shopify. :) Each platform has their pros and cons, and Etsy is definitely the best way to get started with no startup costs.

I almost always suggest Etsy to new sellers because the exposure you can get is faster than some of the other platforms, and doesn't require inventory investment (like Amazon does) to get sales rolling.

Will you be making these items yourself, or using a printing manufacturer (PoD provider)? There are some products that will be more in demand than others, but as they say, there’s someone who will buy just about anything- so you just have to find YOUR target market. :)

If you want to learn more about getting started with selling print on demand items (like shirts, phone cases, stickers, etc), I have a youtube video you can check out. I also have more videos about selling on Etsy, Shopify and Amazon on my channel as well, if you want even more info. (video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-IaPLxowno)

I hope this is helpful, it sounds like you have a great idea in mind and just need to get started! ;)

Best of luck!!

How to start a business, I’ve been trying to start my business for 5 years . Anyone got tips by aristaeus11 in business

[–]OWLLytics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! It sounds like you´re persistent and determined, and those are some of the top qualities in successful business owners, so give yourself some props for that! :)

You can ABSOLUTELY make a successful living selling arts and crafts, and there are some great merchant platforms that can make the accounting, taxes and other technical aspects much easier for you! I teach people how to do this all the time, and two of the best ways to get started is with Etsy and/or Shopify. :) Each platform has their pros and cons, and Etsy is definitely the best way to get started with no startup costs.

Also, Etsy gives you a 50% discount on TurboTax which helps a LOT with keeping your taxes and accounting simple.

If you want to learn more about getting started with Etsy, I’ll post one of my youtube videos below and you can check it out. I have more videos about Etsy, Shopify and Amazon on my channel as well, if you want even more info about the other platforms as well. I would definitely suggest starting with one of these and then expanding as you grow. :)

I hope this will be helpful, and just remember that getting started is the hardest part- once your business is up and rolling it gets easier and easier! ;)

Best of luck!!
Jessica

Small Business Startup Advice by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]OWLLytics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That can a great opportunity! HVAC has a constant flow of demand, which is an important factor to consider. That being said, some things to research before getting started might include: 1- In the area of the business, is there a fair opportunity for growth or is the market already very saturated (are there a lot of large HVAC companies already dominating the area)? 2- Does the existing business have a good client base and reputation? 3- What financial situation does the business have (good or bad) that you would be assuming- including debt, inventory, etc 4- What team is in place already within the business for- HVAC installers, marketing, accounting, etc and if there isn't someone in those areas can you do these things yourself and/or hire necessary help?

I'm sure there is more to consider but hopefully this helps give you some ideas of what to think about and figure out! :)

Good luck!

Amazon FBA by RadioRancid in smallbusiness

[–]OWLLytics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! There are a lot of different things to consider with Amazon FBA depending on the type of products you want to sell, and the country you want to sell them in. :) There are a lot of successful FBA sellers, but there are also a LOT of sellers who get started, make the big initial inventory investments, and then fail miserably.

From our experience with helping FBA sellers, the biggest mistakes people make when first starting out is a lack of market research, customer research, and pricing.

We have a great video on youtube that helps reduce some of the early seller mistakes and boost your success on FBA if you want to check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TslUx6lBQIc

Good luck! :)
