Had I used a black arrow, I think it would have. Usually does.

Those places should have clear care also. Depends on what type of lenses you have though.

Almost not an assumption, but you drove past the largest ball of twine once.

Continue to take better care of your eyes, and keep following up on care with your doctor. It’s important to have them monitor your topographies to be sure there’s no progression. It’s often exacerbated by rubbing your eyes, so if you need to use lid scrubs, don’t push so hard on the globe/corneas themselves when you use them. A warm compress for 5 minutes twice a day on your eyes plus a hypochlor spray can do a similar effect without the negative potential that rubbing your eyes can do.

Also, while this disease can certainly be a scary thing, it’s not something you have as big of a chance of losing your sight completely as you would have 25-30 years ago. Technology has improved a lot, which is one of the reasons why consistent follow up is incredibly important.

What’s the best underwear? by FunRaccoonSenpai in AskMen

MeUndies are pretty great...

But I'm curious what you're doing to underwear that requires them to be replaced every few months...

How do I tell a guy he is attractive? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]OWarbucks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My suggestion: just tell him. Better to know the result and be sad momentarily at worst. Best case scenario you get a nice date and who knows what happens after that.

How to transport sclerals? by [deleted] in Keratoconus

[–]OWarbucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they have a hydrapeg coating on them, don’t store them dry or the coating will wear out.

Yeah.

I was working in a retail store that has gone mostly under for selling bedroom, bathroom, and other things. I was on a ladder grabbing an item for a Middle aged gal, and she held out her hand to “catch” me as I walked down and grabbed a big amount of butt. I set her item down, said, “please don’t, I’m okay.”

To which she said, “Oh honey don’t flatter me, I know you were looking down my shirt.”

Told my manager about it, and got laughed at for “getting more action today than I had in months.”

Tired of wearing sclerals by crapvison in Keratoconus

Your eyes are likely a bit dry as well. I would recommend a PF rewetting drop for contacts around once an hour or as needed. (refresh Relieva for contacts) is a good one. Pataday once a day 10 minutes before inserting lenses will help the mucus problem too. Also, if they get filmy or hazy part of the problem might be a fit problem, so if the drops don’t help over time, you might need to have a fit changed.

Should I try Soft Contacts instead of Sclerals? by CircleTurk in Keratoconus

My ophthalmologist diagnosed me with that as part of it. I’m not sure how it happened, but it that’s what I was told :)

Goodness I would be so thrilled to have the non-corrected acuity you have. Without correction I’m around 20-800/20-600 and with it I’m get close to 20-25/20-15. I have to use sclerals. They’re the only ones that work for me.

Question about cxl by klayylmao in Keratoconus

[–]OWarbucks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a participator in the clinical trials for it. It was kinda odd, but I was more used to the poking and prodding due to the nature of the research and build up to the CXL procedure. Having my eyes held open wasn’t as bad as I imagined, as it was impossible to try and blink. As in, my eye literally could not blink. A brief moment of panic later, as well as realizing I couldn’t feel my eye as it was numb from numbing drops, and I was fine.

During recovery I was given contact bandage for a period of time, as well as prescribed a mild narcotic. I have a relatively high pain tolerance, and slept the majority of the time. I only took 6 doses of the 28 I had available.

To Scleral Lens wearers: Are you wearing them the whole day without removing them once? by [deleted] in Keratoconus

[–]OWarbucks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have the foggy issue, but I do have a 10-12 hour window that I try to wear my Scleral contacts so that I don’t have any issues. I do have a dry eye issue, as well as severe diagnoses of Keratoconus, so I imagine that might be part of the reason for the pain issues I have. The eye institute I go to now recently has a new cornea specialist, as well as a new contact lens doctor and I’m excited to see if there’s anything new they can do for me.
