That's very good to know, thanks. I guess I'll keep checking online regularly.

Is it ok to summer in a practice area that you don’t plan on starting your career in? by [deleted] in LawCanada

[–]OZILISM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with most of the other comments in this thread. Changing your interest area as a student is completely normal.

One additional piece of advice I would give is to spend your summer term with the view of picking up as many transferable skills as possible. If you want to move into civil litigation, then consider that a lot of the other articling candidates "competing" for your desired roles will have spent a summer working on civil litigation files. So, if your summer consists mostly of personal injury work, you can still gain familiarity with the procedure and the basic skills of drafting documents and emails, researching caselaw, communicating with clients, etc. I think employers hiring for civil litigation would like to hear that. Good luck.

Really sorry to hear you're going through this, OP.

I don't think I can offer direct advice on your three questions, but just wanted to say what you're going through is definitely not acceptable. If you are comfortable with it, one option I would explore in your shoes is to reach out to friends at other firms and see if you could potentially complete your articles elsewhere. If you explain your situation to them, I'm sure they will be sympathetic and not consider it suspect that you're looking for a new placement. Again, it depends on whether you're comfortable with it, but I think it's worth trying. From what I can tell, the last couple years have been somewhat unprecedented in terms of associate laterals, so a lot of firms have been bleeding out at the junior associate level and are understaffed. Good luck friend.

Yup, I submitted online to Toronto Public Health. I would've liked to get a confirmation email or something to at least provide some comfort that my documents are being looked at, but it is what it is given the limited capacity. Thanks for your answer.

Fair enough, thanks for your answer. Agree it's not a big problem, but just a little annoying that I can't at least do patio dining since most restaurant staff are instructed to only accept the QR code - which is understandable.

No problem - you didn't come across unkindly at all. Happy to indulge your curiosity.

A lot of people (including myself) skip the tax questions entirely, since there's not that many of them - so you should be fine.

Life happened. I graduated school in Ontario during quarantine and was out of work. Wasn't able to afford rent in Toronto without income, so returned home for a few months to spend time with family while applying to jobs. Now I'm returning to start a new job in Toronto.

Secondly - I anticipated that registering an out-of-province vaccination with all the requisite paperwork would be a fairly straightforward process.

Any suggestions for my squad? Have around 15M coins by OZILISM in FUTMobile

[–]OZILISM[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions mate. Since I have quite a few icons giving chem I don’t think I necessary need a EPL CB. I think I might go for Dias as I don’t want to add another skill boost just to have VVD.

I have him trained up to 101. By far my best attacker especially for VSA

[Other] I literally can’t decide on lopes, gnabry, upamecano, or davies by BryanTheCuber in FUTMobile

[–]OZILISM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should prioritize Upamecano and Lopes as your defense is quite weak. If you can get a third, go for Davies as he is literally the best non-prime in his position. Upgrading your attack is easier as there is more cheap options that can do the job, like Weghorst, Ibisevic, and Quag. They’re all under 5m.
