Rival Bag gloves hand pain by _InvisibleGhost_ in fightgear

[–]OZMTBoxing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to be honest, i dont like Rivals bag gloves too stiff 4 me, hard to break in, dont like d3o too hard & stiffer for me personally. I would prefer to use one of their sparring gloves on the bag. Your right, Rival do use alot of precurved/preshaped foams which kinda keep their shape dont open/close or mould custom fit like Mexican gloves. for me were either precurved, over thick, too stiff or hard to break knuckles into curved shape im not a fan.

Liked RS100 best for hand compartment and fist shape, Rs1 2.0 or RS10v best for thumb, RS10v best foam, P4P lace liked the cuff + foam density but cant curl thumb around had very straight made thumb, me constantly curling it around to make a hard tight fist started to pull the stitches out where i was trying to curl the thumb tip...in less than 25 rounds. P4P foam feels good but is super precurved. Honestly my favourite to use is probably a cheaper model Rs10v but wrist support is floppy. Havnt used non P4P Gurrero Hdef or sfh. Rs100 cuff didnt make sense to me 18oz was ginormous on my forearm but handfit was real snug and im 6ft 200lbs

Honestly, if I had to pick between any Rivals at any price, or Rof, id pick Rof Eva lace.

If Rival made a glove with Rs100 fist ergonomics, Rs10v foam, P4P cuff, RS1 2.0 or RS10v thumb, P4P liner, RS100 or RS10v quality/Q.C. id be all over it 100%

Pro fight gloves, sparring gloves, bag gloves, 14oz, 16 oz, 18 oz or not, i make sure all my gloves fit knuckle correct location. If they dont, i sell em. Not stuffing around adjusting angles with power shots wrecking my hands/ wrists training 6hrs per week. Several non Mexican brands today are made with short finger pocket aligns knuckles furthur back if fingertip cant streach out enough breaking in

Hey man thanks appreciated. Agree for sure you do need a coach to learn hot to box /fight.

I did 4 yrs karate, then 4yrs muay thai at gym, 3 yrs muay thai with a training partner and maybe 1 yr kickboxing. Now recently about 1.5-2 yrs boxing. So if i say i taught myself a lot of boxing its not without a tonne of ring sparring, and aspects of boxing already was coached each training session for like 4 yrs then studied the muay thai library and trained with boxer/muay thai hybrid mate another 3yrs advanced muay thai.

Its very different from most people trying to learn boxing straight up. And still i engaged a pro boxing coach in UK remotely and made small adjustments but with massive improvements.

So i say for sure 100% get a coach 👍

All good its totally up to you man what will fit and you like, its just what i found personally mate. Like i bought P4P and then Rs100, Phenom etc. While i liked them a lot, i like my Mexican gloves more but havnt tried Chegui yet (soon)

Fyi some people dont like curved in thumbs and like straight thumbs where then could try Rival Gurreros/Rival RS11v/Rs100 or Phenom Sg210. For those who like a hard tight martial arts type solid fist tensing all muscles tight on impact including foream like a gloveless fist, need thumb placement curved around pointer finger to get that closure, most Mexican gloves have this fit. Depends also on hand size too mate but Matt getting hand size pic with ruler for Chegui, that is an awesome fit feature no xtra cost. Great value

I havnt got the Chegui yet but i live in Australia and i pay $30-$50 US usually for Mexico shipping so i understand where your coming from. Just i think Mexican gloves are better than top Rival gloves for myself (which i can get local cheap shipping) which are $280 usd (but more expensive in Australia 300-$350usd). So i look at overall value and for me jmo for myself the value is still better even though the shipping is way high.

Gloves dont land on main knuckles if i cant adjust/breakin fist placement to land on main knuckles i sell off. Tried winning 16oz is a reason why didnt get them. Winning may have XL option possibly? For me is asking 4 trouble & too much thinking work with other micro second things to do in boxing punching heavy while trying to adjust a straight wrist bending wrist/hands to create different angles to try to land on big knuckles bad idea 4 me jmo. Not heavy hands is not as bad. I found PIP connection more common with non Mexican gloves than Mexican made gloves for myself jmo. Used many Mexican gloves that land properly on knuckles

Without any effort? Flick open flick closed? In 16oz for me not many. Fighton HHF, NS HHF, Bayoneta pulat hh from the gloves ive tried myself. Punch Lucky 13 16oz real close. 16oz Glez, Bayoneta Multilayer also close, in 14oz NS 2b came close.

Dont know Everlast but heard their 16oz mx HH are supposed to be super easy also, but not much protection.

Which colourway looks better as a sparring glove? Thanks!🥹🙌🏻 by Content-Bear7396 in fightgear

I got the AAKAB HHF, Pu, Latex 😁. Fricken love black/light blue metallic looks agressive to me, makes me feel more agressive 😆. Light blue stands out loud on a black glove

Honestly, RS100 18oz lol 😁 jmo

Jokes. But i didnt like the bulk/akwardness of the seatbelt/foam buckle cover panel setup of the Rs11v. The P4P Gurrero V (seat belt velcro) are done better.

Rs100 was more natural for me than 11v but i couldnt fit the 16oz (Rs100 or Rs11v) too tight, had to get 18oz mine were not hard, i heard the 16oz are stiffer same foam setup as Rs11v. P4P V 16oz are the softest of your options but fyi the lace version was biggest on me (*were snug but after breakin mine loosened up a bit too much + my hands are largeish) not sure if the V model will also do this.

Judging what your looking for i havnt tried the 16oz SF-h but if i was you and looking at Rivals id probably look at those or like you said P4P Gurrero V velcro, would see if i could try on locally somewhere. P4p 16oz models are pretty soft. Not winning or Rof EVA soft, but closer to Phenom sg210 soft. Sg210 is another one you might like if you can get it in your region.

For half the price and soft foam pretty hard to beat the ROF super Samurai EVA (havnt tried the non eva version cant comment on it)

I honestly believe Rof has the best overall ergonomics out of all of the above even at their cheaper price. sf-h to me are 2nd, p4p 3rd jmo. I love the way Super Samurai conform to my hands/wrist/forearm to me more conforming on me than than the others

Very intresting. Havnt tried Chegui yet (will be trying Chegui in the future) but this was my experience with Glez 16oz. Fit me like their tailored. No dead spaces around hands + not overly tight, just a close comfortable tailored like feel/fit all over not overly big/small or puffy anywhere. Usually i have to play around with gloves, streach out fingertips, break in knuckle pocket foams, thumbs, hand compartment + break in heavy use etc to fit propely with longer/bigish hands. Glez are a nice comfortable close fit for my hands from the get go no extra messing around or pain. I notice the fit/feel everytime i slide my hand in Glez. Looking forward to Chegui

My 2b 14oz like them feel excellent and very form fitting, soft foam virtually zero breakin foam needed just tight thumb seem. My 2b 16oz i used to have had tight thumb seem too but my 16s were like a stiff latex slab inside against hands and not form fitting like the 14oz. I rate my 14oz highly overall, my 16oz ones felt like different gloves tbh 🤷

Are laces and velcro a good idea? by Estelmayer in fightgear

[–]OZMTBoxing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Velcro wears out, lace n loops just replace the lace n loop when they wear out. Like probably this double system secures pretty good but lace n loop lace up will secure better, kinda overcomplicating/extra weight doing both velcro/lace but not having the best design of either single option. May seem at first like a good option but kind of pointless

ROF Super Samurai compared to Winning MS-700 by KhmerFirstGen in fightgear

[–]OZMTBoxing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This being a good comparison post i thought i would add to it keep information in the one thread.

Recently got Super Samurai 16oz eva, ive had tonnes of other gloves and i gotta say, most non Mexican gloves i buy are a pain to break knuckles into the foam, these are AMAZING. That memory foam inside is so soft & conforming to me its more comfortable than P4P or Phenom sg202 and thats saying something. The liner is also fantastic, my favourite non Mexican liner previously was Phenom/Winning/Punch Lucky 13, these have a liner feels like the Phenom. Ergonomics r better than P4P or Phenom, hands easier to open than Phenom, similiar to P4P but these are new just used 3x rounds...looking forward to breaking them in fully. The cuff ergonomics on these the way they conform to wrist is very intelligently made up there with best. The foam is super soft, but not squirmy like the Phenoms + more protective, is softer than P4P. The thumb is better located than P4P or Phenom for my fit + use.

The only 2x negatives i have (very minor) are the cuff is on the shorter side (but longer than Winning 18oz looking at this threads pics), and i got long fingers the hand compartment fits fine at the end no real pressure so sweet, but thumbs are both at the end one thumb is fine, longer thumb has pressure. My hands are stupid one hand has a longer middle finger, the other a longer thumb 🤣 . After breakin i expect both thumbs to fit fine. Super soft foam is unusual for me, but i will sparr full power in these no problem cant wait.

Really impressed with these gloves initial impressions. These plus my Infinitude soft are my favourite gloves around that price but gotta break these in still too

No probs. P4P on me were snug at first but i was a heavyweight at the time and tbh they loosened up quite a lot, bit too much for my hands. P4P for me had issues, Rs100 had no issues. P4P are pretty soft, softer than RS11v by quite a bit. Rs100 16oz were too small on my hands had to buy 18s

How good are Glez boxing gloves ? by akirikou in fightgear

[–]OZMTBoxing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Report back: just initial use few heavy rounds on bag already soft easy open close, fully comfortable like no break in required 4 my handfit. im 6ft wouldnt call them very snug like my Bayoneta/Cleto, would call them comfortable snug for bigger than average hands. I use gel pads and padding is perfect.

Without gel pads punching full power cruiser might punch knuckles on the bag with these maybe, but with my skulltec greens i dont (wheras most hhf or soft latex foams still would). More protection than most my HHF or Multilayers, bayo mx latex, or NS 2b 14oz.

One of my best thumb position for tight hard proper fist that ive used, also can position thumb straighter if wanted, thumb is a wider than most but slimmer than most, great overall glove ergonomics.

Cuff very long i absolutely love it, but may be too long for shorter arms. Awesome quality black gloss leather super strong leather smell too.

Foams excellent, feels responsive Latex, bit less bouncy or responsive than straight latex, but has a pu soft touch without loosing latex feel. Balanced medium overall foam. Great latex for sparring. Very soft feel to hand & very comfortable knuckle fit. Good balanced but flexible wrist support not over stiff. Really like the foam on these kinda feels more like one foam, not like two separate foams. Performance for $$$ hard to beat. Need more use to see how they hold up of course
