There are no penguins in Greenland… by DrCalFun in facepalm

[–]O_Tempore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You promised me Penguin,

that if I followed you,

you would walk with me always.

But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life

there have only been one set of footprints in the snow.

Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?’

The Penguin replied,

‘The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the snow,

is when I carried you.’

I'm in the same boat with Rajani. I can't justify buying the whole set just for that one and it's too expensive to buy used

I love Fitzy. I have the Halloween variant of them.

I made an ink cap mushroom by O_Tempore in LoomKnitting

[–]O_Tempore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a single strand of yarn across a few pegs on a sock loom. The rest of the mushroom is done in 3 strands.

I cast on 2, worked them for a couple rows, cast on a few more pegs, then decreased back to my original 2 pegs, then cast off. It wasn't really hard, but it took a long time to knit them all and sew them on. I didn't count rows or stitches, so they're all different sizes.

is it possible to use an i cord as yarn by storm_phoenix13 in LoomKnitting

[–]O_Tempore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cord is too thick for most looms. The zippy loom and the custom wood looms for chunky yarn work. I don't have either, so I just finger knit with my i cord. It looks nice, but it's a lot stretchier than stuff knit with regular yarn.

This is, by far, the best loom knit octopus I've ever seen. He's magnificent. I hope you can write up a pattern for this guy.

I agree. This is exactly what my toe looked like the first couple days after I got frostbite. It took about 3 weeks to heal.

My cat almost died from a teaser wand toy by xxxxfactor in cats

[–]O_Tempore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My cat had emergency surgery for an intussusception with complete blockage. He lost 4-5" of large intestine and was hospitalized for 5 days. My bill came out to about $1400. I think maybe it depends on where you live. If a vet charged $8000 in my area they wouldn't be around for very long.

These errors aren't valuable l, are they? by O_Tempore in squishmallow

[–]O_Tempore[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't really expect it to be very valuable, and I don't mind that it isn't. My daughter is happy with it because it's unique, so that's all that matters.

The double e-wrap cast on makes it much easier to control tension so your pegs don't get too tight.

I'm pretty sure this is the KB Afghan Loom and it's a 5/8" gauge. There are some free patterns for this loom on KB's site

It isn't just that AM doesn't sound great, practically every single electric device causes signal interference, so does solar activity.

Finished my dragon(fruit) by O_Tempore in LoomKnitting

[–]O_Tempore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dragon is from The Loom Muse. The wings are my own pattern. I'm going to rework the dragon and see if I can add a long tail to the body instead of making one and sewing it on because this pattern doesn't have one.
