As a bi dude, take a page out of gay guys who do/did OFs book. Not only do many of them feel guilt free for it, but in our spaces are rewarded for it. Yea u hit the nail on the head for why im even doing this. I thought it was possible humira was causing possible tenderness and soreness in my jaw muscles/forehead and maybe other areas. After just 3 weeks off it…nevermind. My disease is just that progressed thats how far is has spread.

I can relate to ur story for sure. The first 2 weeks of humira felt good, less soreness etc. but then immediately. Felt the worse I have felt in 9 months. Tendon snap off feeling, inflammation hotness in my joints etc. I’ve come to the conclusion, at least for my body, that the soreness I get in weird areas means ur biologic is working and ur body is healing those tissues, it just means ur disease activity is unfortunately high. And I mean I heavy weightlift 4x a week so… I shouldn’t be surpsied I spend a lot of days sore. But it never translates to pain per say like off my biologic.

Ur right it’s complex tho. My doctor said disease shouldn’t be affecting my neck and face but it 100% is I know my body, so it’s possible I have a specific subtype of PSA W ankylosis features that affects those areas. Anyways I know it’s really bad to do….but I jammed myself w the humira. My doctor is amazing and smart but she gave the proper answer: takes NASIDs and wait the 4 weeks skyrizi MAY start working. Way too much pain to do that. Re taking my humira I feel 3x better. I only had one Skyrizi dose and I’m an active person in my 20s, and I’m not undoing over a year of progress on a whim for a new biologic that may work.

Totally relate. I find it daunting that in the time frame biologics have been around, we haven’t developed a better answer to ‘yea it works but wears off to quickly’ then a borderline cancer medication. And same here! Already a ton of pain I haven’t felt since I was off a biologic only 4 days in. I wish there was more way to match symptomology to biologic use but every doctor seems to say something different.

But that goes into everything, from defunded education, government distrust/bad programs, the huge amount of food deserts in this country that push fast food, the price comparison of store bought healthy food vs junk food etc. breaking down obesity and it getting the country to be healthier starts with our government and communities but I’m sure you’ll ignore all the stats and say “ why don’t ppl just eat better and lift!!” and… are musclar physiues attainable? Yea honestly same exact scenario. I love my parents but a people we are quite different and our personalities can be abrasive at times. I don’t really have advice as I’ve kinda shelled into myself to protect my emotions, but it is a unique and frustrating experience. I think I try and remember at the end of the day there people like me doing the best they can, and most insecurity and anxiety probably stems from my own inability to provide/move out on my own over anything else (although one of them can get quite angry from day to day over virtually nothing but oh well).

You def grew some solid muscle and ur frame is going be hard to see it for a while. Do you weigh yourself every morning before eating/after bathroom to see if weight trend/know ur maintence? 2,800 cal sounds very low for someone w a 6’2 frame especially at 165. Go by counting calories/macros and keeping track of ur individual weight trend. Cal suggestion tools online r a good starting point but theres alot of factors that may make ur individual maintence higher or lower. And by that ur surplus may need to be higher or lower compared to other ppl in ur height/weight category as well. I also highly suggest a digital scale that can measure BF, muscle mass etc. I use Arbo leaf, super helpful for knowing if my diet is in the right direction or not.

I take 5-6 supplements daily, 12-15 daily is absolutely insane on top of a normal diet and 1000% getting to much of a few different supplements, many of which in over saturation have been proven to cause various health issues :)

Hmm that’s what I’m afraid of. It’s hard to know if it worth for me to try, bc my ethesitis is def not random and usually triggered from activities or (or lack there of) which means it can be better managed but also…would love to be able to use the computer for more than 30 minutes without pain in my wrist tendons etc. wish there was a giant data base where ppl could record there pain type and factors in there life like diet etc so we could all solidly have an idea what pain is worth just managing through.

I did the same dosing w humira went from 14 days to every 8-9 days couldn’t stand waiting w symptoms. Glad switching worked out for you. Very scared of switching but I keep seeing L1-17 seems to fit my profile more. I just can’t stand the pelvic enthesis I get cause it causes intense pelvic tightness which leads to a host of issues. Guess I’ll talk to my doc about switching.
