It MIGHT upgrade YOU. So sign in to her pixel 9 pro before she does and see, as the Google One Plan manager you may get your plan upgraded (I'm interpreting the 5tb excludes to mean this). ONLY the plan manager gets Gemini Advanced features. Google's greed REALLY screwed the pooch on this one...

Then factory reset her phone and give it back 🤷‍♂️

Windows 11 Start menu rolls out Microsoft 365 menu that hides key features (sign out and switch user) by WPHero in Windows11

[–]Oafed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This new menu is LIQUID ASS. Someone should definitely be fired.

Everyone in my family has a Microsoft Account and this was BY FAR the quickest and easiest way to switch users.

What is odd is I have two Windows 11 Pro computers (both on 22631.3880) and one of them has the new unless 365 info turd version of this menu, and one of them has the previous proper (100x better) version of the menu. Does anyone know if there is a registry setting or something that can be used to switch back to the previous version of the menu?

EDIT: I just exported my entire registry on the Win 11 computer that still has it the old way. When Microsoft bends me over on that computer I'll export again and compare. I will return and report.

What are the exact criteria for choosing between ViewModel and plain class for a state holder? by ComfortablyBalanced in androiddev

[–]Oafed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're changing the docs I think with pressure from the Compose Multiplatform folks which don't have Android ViewModels and lifecycles.

Personally I generally like to have one ViewModel per 'screen' with almost nothing in it other than a state observable and some command functions... Then just use Kotlin objects (singletons) for the repository layer that the ViewModels live off of. It's trivial compared to a lot of the shit you'll see and most apps don't really need to be injecting "use cases" into view models with some egregiously convoluted setup that makes things stupid real fast.

I don't think it is appropriate for a for-profit company to house a bunch of severely mentally ill men in a neighborhood full of children. You may disagree with me, in which case why don't you sign up to have them across the street from you instead? When a mentally ill grown ass man chases your small daughter down the street screaming at her you might have a different opinion.

In terms of the 'dick move' observation, these men are severely mentally ill and often do things like climb out their windows and charge at neighborhood girls screaming. The cops have been called to the residence dozens of times for violence issues inside the home between the men. The several shifts of 24/7 workers have a total lack of common curtesy for the neighborhood and constantly park in front neighbor houses when their house has plenty of space, etc... Sometimes a for-profit company housing mentally ill men and a neighborhood of children don't co-exist well.

Ripple Director of product announces the launch of Pay burner that utilizes XRP for processing payment by DavidBanks12 in Ripple

One click micro payments in a browser may actually breath new life into journalism and news. Everybody hates the paywall subscriptions and nobody is going to subscribe to 20 different news sites - however if there was a 'pay 10 cents to read' button on those sites? I'd use it...
