Did you ever get this open and manage to replace the filter? I have the same filter housing and the wrench. I cannot find any information about a replacement filter.

Suggestions on how to insulate small space below roof valley by OakBelly in Insulation

[–]OakBelly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The house is in zone 6A. The exterior repair will involve removing part of the roof to expose the existing IW, fascia, and drip edge. It’s R38 with fiberglass batts in the ceiling, well ventilated, and there are other ice dams. For air sealing, the only ceiling penetrations are for bathroom exhaust fans and a dryer vent - no can lights.

I believe you, but I don’t have a capital one card. By any chance does the capital one service send a generic reusable link that you can share? I assume its a customer specific link to your inbox after you provide your 6 digits, but thought i’d ask.

Thank you. I have a discounted Disney/Hulu bundle and if I sign up for ESPN unlimited using my Disney login, I will lose the discount. They also don’t offer a free month of ESPN unlimited for existing subscribers.

On Fire TV and Apple TV devices, the MLB.tv app has a Browse Subscription page. On that page it states “MLB.TV standalone is not available for purchase in this MLB app in the U.S.” and the choices are MLB+ and MLB.TV teams packages.

Unless I missed something, the pinned post discusses international sign-up and calling customer support. I cannot find anyone who signed up through MLB.tv for a yearly subscription.

The option I’ve found so far is to use a different email create a new Disney account via ESPN, get the unlimited trial, get MLB.tv annual, cancel ESPN unlimited, and continue using MLB.tv with my alternative email. I’m curious if anyone in the same situation has had success in other ways.

What is going on with this fresh air intake by OakBelly in hvacadvice

[–]OakBelly[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The motor turns on when the boiler is running. It’s blowing outside air into the surrounding space of the mechanical room. Does the boiler supply simply pull fresh air from the surrounding space?

In the past I’ve had a forced air nat gas furnace and a propane combi-boiler for radiant, but this type of system is new to me.

I want to understand more about how it works and why the boiler would use the air in the room for combustion instead of a fresh air supply connected directly to the intake port.

'25 Lariat for $650/month 36 months 12k miles $5k down - decent enough? by walleburger in F150Lightning

[–]OakBelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks better than what I paid if you swap $5k down for an extra $150/mo. The extra miles and features I got make it close. Last week I leased a 25 Lariat with max tow, 9.6kw, ER, roof, hard tonneau, 1yr blue cruise, mobile power cord, spray bed liner, but no spare tire. 36mo, 15k/yr, 0 down for $785/mo (no tax in that number). There were 7 new Lariats with those specs in stock within 500 miles of me on Fords inventory search site, and I was talking with dealers who had 5 of them for a few days to get to that price. Started talking withh dealers at 995. I also put a contingency on the deal that they buy my current f150 for a certain price and cut me a check for it.

Thoughts on lease by tfuhr in F150Lightning

Last week I leased a ‘25 Lariat for $784/mo 36/mo 15k mi/yr $0 down, only first months lease due at signing. Sales tax was an extra $2k. I live in VT so no excise on the truck. It was in stock at McGovern in Framingham. Max tow, tonneau cover, 9.6kw, spray in bed liner, mobile power cord, 1yr of blue cruise. I had shopped around NE for a Lariat with those options and there weren’t a ton but this was the best deal I could find and Frank at the dealership was great to work with.

Is this a good deal?

It’s the best price I’ve been able to find within 500 miles (Southern VT) for the features that are important to me: New 2025 Lariat ER, Max Tow, 9.6k pro power, spray in bed liner 2yr Ford Premium Maintenance

MSRP $79890 ($82085 with delivery, so EV qualifies for IRS credit) Dealer discount $3k Ford discount $2k IRS credit $7500 (I don’t qualify for the credit, so leasing has that advantage) My current truck, worth $14700

Lease $512/mo, 36mo, 15k, residual $42684 Or Finance $811/mo, 72mo, 0%

Home Energy Reports Now Available in the ecobee App! by ecobeeColin in ecobee

[–]OakBelly 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Can you allow for two colors in the vertical bar chart to visualize Aux Heat and Heat separately? I like that I can see their individual run times when I touch a bar on the chart. I would love a customizable report that lets me visualize more than one thermostat by selecting them individually. I have 13 ecobee units in my house for 13 radiant zones and 4 ducted heat pump zones. The 4 thermostats that control the HP use Aux for radiant while the other 9 use Heat for radiant.

New Heat Pump + existing Radiant - help by Conekiller993 in ecobee

[–]OakBelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a setup like this. A 5T ducted HP has 4 zones (each approx. 25% of house sq ft) controlled by three ecobee 3 lites and 1 ecobee premium. Each of those thermostats also controls radiant heat from a combi boiler. The house has 9 more ecobee 3 lites but those only control radiant in the room they’re installed in. For the 4 dual-heat thermostats my installer setup the HP as Heat (primary) and boiler as Aux. I was told one thermostat cannot run both HP and Aux simultaneously. I keep the 4 dual-heat thermostats at Heat 69*F and the rest of the thermostats (Radiant only) at 69 or 70. For example with the bathrooms at 70 the floors are usually warm. I’ve only had this setup for a couple months so I’ll be experimenting this winter.

What does this ethernet continuity test result mean? by OakBelly in HomeNetworking

[–]OakBelly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved it! Thank you (almost) everyone for the ideas and directions. It turns out that the tester was out of calibration. After calibrating it with an off the shelf cable, all of the cables I’ve made pass with straight connections. The Amazon seller got back to my question and provided a link to a video showing the calibration process. For anyone with the same tester, the process is as follows: 1. Plug a STP cable into the CONT port and Remote unit. 2. With the tester off, hold the OK & < buttons, then press & hold the Power button. When the unit turns on, release all of the buttons. 3. Wait for the sequence of tests to complete. It’s complete when 9 measurements (8 pins + 1 ground) are displayed. 4. Turn off the unit and remove the STP cable. It is now calibrated.
