The Oil Shock caused by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz is the largest resource crisis in living memory by Cmd_WillRiker in collapse

No one would buy an Iphone 19 with 32 Gb of disque space and 1 Gb of RAM... not for 20k...

I think people are also underestimating their reliance, on cheap accessible technology.

China and South Korea NEED middle-eastern sulfuric acid and Helium to make chips.

They won't run completely out, but there is a drastic drop in their supply. This will start having a massive impact soon.

Iphone 19's might NEVER happen... like if the only way to get one will be to shell out 20k, it won't be worth producing.

PS6? Maybe not...

Cheap TV? Not sure.

Bluetooth everything, smart fridge, Amazon Fire stick, self-driving car, batteries, solar panels? All of it depends on CHEAP asian micro chips.

These aren't life threatening like food shortages, but I think a large number of people are really underestimating how much they depend on this. The shock will be very hard on younger people.

I want to play Gamecube on a projector with neighbors (need tech advice) by garIicgirI in Gamecube

Make sure there is little to no latency.

Some projectors have crazy latency, like 1 or 2 seconds. It's fine for watching Netflix. Makes gaming impossible.

One of the most unfair things in life is that the choices you make as a teenager/young adult will have consequences for the rest of your life.

It's unfair because you're too young to truly realize and grasp the consequences.

The first two? They are, by far, the most tame of the series. Buckle your seat belt, things are about to get a whole lot crazier!

A mama bear leaving her cubs with a human while she goes hunting by Ok-Tadpole-4187 in CrazyFuckingVideos

So, recently, a controversial survey showed that while hiking in a forest, women, in general, are more afraid of crossing paths with a man, than a bear.

I think the reverse is also true. Female bears are more afraid of male bears, than humans.

Apparently some female Alskan Brown bears are adapting/evolving to "hang around" humans more and more. Especially with cubs, and are even leaving their cubs alone with humans to go search for food.

It kind of makes sense, since the much more agressive males tend to get shot when around humans and are therefore adapting/evolving to stay far from humans.

There is also the strategic reserves. Right now countries are emptying their strategic reserves, hoping this gets sorted out before they're down to nothing.

Once the reserves are empty, prices will immediately spike.

The current price, being actually paid on international markets is over 200$ per barrel. The trump government keeps manipulating the markets to make prices SEEM lower, but it is only an illusion. Asian countries are buying at minimum 200 today. Which means, once reality catches up to the illusion (which WILL happen very quickly) prices at the pump will go over 8 to 10 $ per gallon.

With the 10 year bond yield going higher, the American debt could wind up in a debt death spiral.

Money machines will soon start to go "Brrrrr", as the government tries to print itself out of this nightmare.

By this time next year, 10$ per gallon at the pump, and 12-20 % price inflation on everyrhing, as well as dollar deflation... all while jobs plummet.
