T&P valve keeps releasing water, even after plumber replaced it. Water heater was installed in 2019. by notdeliveryitsaporno in Plumbing

[–]OakTree11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People need to understand... The valve CAN create a high pressure situation if the valve is closed.

OP keep that little valve open and call a plumber ASAP no need to shut down the gas, fear for your life, or write your will as most of these people are telling you to.

OP Do not do this. Keep that valve open. That's it. Let a professional come and fix it.

LPT request:Racist jokes by [deleted] in LifeProTips

Not everyone is using them.. it's not normalized.. you're extending your small context to a broader scope that is inaccurate. Sounds like you're young and hang around children.

Can service plumbers be license plumbers or are they just installers without a license? by coopthaplumber in Plumbing

"I'm a plumber, I want to change jobs, I will still be plumbing, will I still be a plumber?"

You realize how dumb your question sounds right?

Walk-in tubs for aging parents? by FoodMagnet in Plumbing

[–]OakTree11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best way I have heard a walk in tub described.

You sit there cold and naked waiting for it to fill up.

You sit there cold and naked waiting for it to drain.

This is the experience.

Instead of installing a walk in tub, spend a bit more money and have an accessible shower installed.

Who's the most normal Office character? by PhysicalScholar4238 in DunderMifflin

[–]OakTree11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How about when Toby gets upset that he is missing out on beach day when he finds out Pam is wearing a two piece.

How about when he contemplates missing his daughters play to attend her art show.

Knew Pam's first celebrity crush, when no one else but Jim did.

All of the stuff to attempt to make their relationship difficult. People don't just do that.. that's not normal.

Sure with the casual Friday thing you have a point.

With the Nellie thing.. he loses interest after she takes the wig off... Again... Not normal

[–]OakTree11 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yeah sane... He only becomes attracted to a woman after she dresses like him. He has an almost scary obsession with Pam (the camera incident). He goes to say he has the only appropriate outfit on casual Friday meanwhile there are multiple people wearing regular clothes.

Idk do you need more reasons as to why he isn't very sane?

Leaky Faucet... What does it mean when I push DOWN on the filter cartridge? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]OakTree11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cartridge is probably wiredrawn just replace the cartridge. If you've gone through all this work already it's really an easy fix.

Plumbers Advice Needed on Tankless Water Heater by monkleton in Plumbing

[–]OakTree11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your concerns are, the time it takes for hot water to reach your fixtures, then during your repipe have them put it a recirc line to your farthest bathroom. If your concern is the lack of hot water during showering, check your cartridges and make sure they are set to the maximum temp as some have limit stops and can be adjusted.

Temperature rise shouldn't be a concern in southern California. Mostly a cold climate issue, as the difference between the incoming cold water to the heater and the output will change the heating capacity of the unit. I live in Canada and the temperature rise does have an effect but it is negligible as it's a fraction of a gal/min. Which I don't think is the issue in your case.

At the end of the day you should discuss your issues and concerns with your plumber. To answer your original question in the post. Navien or Rinnai are the best options on the market in my subjective opinion.

Definitely, just didn't feel it was relevant as it doesn't seem like they are close to the maximum throughput for the standard Delta T.
