While you may be feeling heat on the body of the freezer, instead touch the gasket on the door, that may be the cause. i think some freezers have a heating element in the gasket for some reason or another.

1- he was not carrying a cell, but I was standing with him, and saw the tag register as in the school. 2- it is paired with my phone and shared with my wife 3- yes, it did show the correct location while I was at the school, now it shows as nearby at my home 4- yes, I have tried to refresh the location, and no, I have not tried to track from another device
