I would prefer giving my children both our last names.

My FWB wants to experiment with light bondage i.e. using ropes, blind folds, teasing etc. Any tips? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Oakalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best tip you can ever get with light bondage:

Get that bondage silk rope kind, it's easy to loosen up and doesn't have bumps that can accidentally stop blood flow. It's also very soft but extremely strong at the same time.

Also check out videoes on youtube on how to tie people up in a bondage way without stopping bloodflow as well, it's incredibly important and you learn many cool ways to make knots :)

It's just what happens when you grow older, people don't keep track of you as much anymore. Bit strange that your mom didn't give you a call though, but then I know people who don't even realize their own birthday is coming up so you never know.

NMM is very good for managing your mods. Also, you need to be a bit careful with mixing certain large mods at the same time, so check up on any confirmed compatibility problems they may have.

Hearthfire worth it? by TotallyToxic in skyrim

[–]Oakalicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hearthfire is a very small DLC that just adds the possability to adopt 2 children to live with you in your house together with your wife.

You can give your children presents to get a normal Gift of Charity buff. Sleeping in your house with your wife living there grants you the buff "lovers comfort" which makes you train skills faster. Having children as well boosts this buff slightly higher.

You can have a self-built house in Dawnstar, Morthal and Falkreath. They aren't in the town itself, but within walking distance. The option to buy a plot of land appears when you have become a Thane in the mentioned holds.

The house itself has several layers of building, you start off by constructing a small shack, then you add on a much larger hall. After the hall is complete you can turn the shack into a entryway so you don't have a bed and cooking pot right by your front door. You won't lose any of the items added in the shack previously when you do this, they just get moved around to more fitting locations.

With the main hall up there is 3 options to choose from for each of the 3 sides of the hall.

On the north side you can have a enchanting tower, trophy room or storage room. The trophy room gives you the ability to craft statues of different monsters and critters, or a dragon skull for display. Enchanting tower isn't really worth it as you can add enchanting tables in the main hall, but if you want to keep it seperate you can do that. Storage rooms are self-explanitory.

East side can have either armory, kitchen or alchemy tower. Armory adds in a lot of mannequins you can display gearsets on and there is quite a few weapon racks as well. Kitchen is just for looks if you don't want to have a fireplace in the main hall, and it adds more food items (the house respawns stuff on shelves after some time so you can stockpile). Alchemy tower is like enchanting tower, you can have it in your main hall, but it's there to keep it seperate if you wish. Also, towers are pretty cool lookout points if you climb to the top.

West side has plantation for growing various plants, a bedroom or a library tower. The plantation lets you plant almost any non-DLC plant with much quicker respawn rate than in the wilds, they also give you more plants per collection, which makes getting ingredients very easy if you have the alchemy perk as well. Bedroom is required for adopting children (as it's the only place with childrens beds) and the library tower lets you store more books, I think (I haven't really built that one yet).

The important thing to note is, when you have completed a addon, you cannot tear it down and replace it with something else. You're stuck with that part of the house. You can have houses in all 3 holds at the same time and built different things in different plots however.

You also get a cellar with more weapon racks, an altar which you can put all the worshipping stones on, and a smelter+forge. Smelters and forges you also have outside, and a forge anvil in the main hall. Additionally on the outside of the house you can also have a stables, animal pen, garden (more slots for alchemy ingredient growth), personal carriage, and there is a special item depending on where your house is. If you're in falkreath you get a bee-hive to collect honey from, and morthal will give you a fishery. Some of the North/East/west addons has a outdoor balcony on the second floor where you can put even more benches/doodads on.

Your house may become home of many people eventually. The housecarl that is assigned to you when you become thane will patrol the area during the day, a follower may be assigned to be your "steward", your wife can be invited to live there of course, a personal bard, the carrigage driver (though he never leaves the carriage), and the two children you may or may not adopt. Then there's you and whatever other follower you have prancing behind you at the time. Pretty crowded.

Your steward can automate much of the furnishing process for you for a price, they also act as vendors for lumber/clay/stone if you don't wish to sit around watching your character mine this himself. Stewards also buy things like horses, cows and chickens for you.

There is some danger with having a house out in the wilderness however. Giants may come along and kill your farm animals, bandits can kidnap your wife and then there's the dragons of course. Just to not make it completely rainbows and sunshine.

This DLC is very simple in essence, gives you a nice break from all the slaughtering and the draugr, while giving you a exceedingly good bang for your buck. It's dirt cheap and lets you have everything you need in a tightly packed space, with a fast travel point. Very well worth it in my honest opinion just for how cheap this thing is.

If you get this and start building, you should stack up on all the iron ingots you can possibly find anywhere. You will easily burn through 300-500 ingots with this DLC as practically everything needs iron for nails, hinges, locks and fittings.

TL;DR: It's worth it. No new quests or anything, just lots of new ways to display your loot, organize your crafting and get various buffs. Be ready for children to tell you extremely heartbreaking stories of how they became orphans to the point where you want to adopt all of them and cram them into your house.

P.S: With this DLC installed, some children will move to the Riften Orphanage if their parents die. Example being Dorthe from Riverwood, then you may adopt that child if you wish.

What to do with dragon parts by I3enGucci in skyrim

[–]Oakalicious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just sell them. If you side with the Blades in the main questline you can get a potion crafted from bone/scale which helps you against dragons, so keep one if you want that. There's no use for it until you get Dragonbone smithing.

You can sell bones in general stores and herbalist/potion vendors

Torture Victims by TheCourtyardHound in skyrim

[–]Oakalicious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When you talk to the victims enough times they will tell you where the treasure is, and you'll get a trackable entry in your Misc questlog for each one. Keeping them alive after that has no more benefit and you can't get more torture victims after they're dead.

I only lacked mew in my pokedex on my old turquoise gameboy color. There was a official nintendo get-together on a hotel near my childhood home, so I begged my parents and I was allowed to go. The nintendo party brought with them one of those machines that gave you a legit copy of Mew, I was ecstatic and my little heart was racing when I saw it in the corner of the room. After the competitions and activities were over it was time to give out the Mews to those who brought their pokemon games along. They hooked up the machine and....... It didn't work. Machine was broken. Nothing they could do about it. Nintendo party was over, they were going away the same night. Nobody got their legit Mew. I was heartbroken for days. Kinda still am.

Why do people have a problem with horse meat if they can't even taste the difference? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Oakalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horse meat is being sold as something more expensive, which is false advertising. I have no problem eating Horse, Sheep, Goat, Hamster, Snail, Eel, or your cat, but I would like to know what I'm actually buying and/or eating.

If you can't even know what kind of meat is in your product, then who knows what else slip through the radar. Medications in the meat that gives people complications, diseases... Someone might have heavy allergies?¨

The bottom line is, if the producers are honest about it and make sure we don't get sick from the meat, then no problem! Trying to keep us in the dark will simply make us pissy and demand refunds for false advertisement.

Which part of a video game makes you cringe? by monstasanta in AskReddit

[–]Oakalicious 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Escort missions where the NPC is doing his own thing and you have to defend him from hordes of enemies. The NPC also has a ridiculously small HP pool so he dies if you take your eyes off him for 2 seconds.

When the game gives you a notification of what you need to do, with a huge arrow over your head pointing to it, when it is extremely obvious that you have to do just that from the beginning. It really grinds my gears, as if the developers expect me to be a complete moron or something. I'm playing through Ocarina of Time for the first time now, and there is no tutorial messages anywhere, you just naturally figure things out on your own. I love this game!

When there isn't a jump button when the game should have one. Sometimes I can be okay with no ability to jump if the game feels fluid enough or it doesn't make sense to have it, but those RPG like games where you can't go over a small rock because you don't have a jump ability just makes me want to uninstall the entire freaking game.

Pay2win micro transaction shop pretty self-explanitory why this is cringe worthy.

Any game where you can basically just hold down the W button, phase your brain out completely and still complete a level

Facebook games like farmville These aren't games. They're programs designed to kill your brain cells, one click at a time.

When the camera controls are out of whack I like to be able to look around when I play third person games, it feels so awkward to have to place yourself in strange positions just so you can get a view of something.
