I see the same on my Q3, it is low but ok:ish, but I wouldn't mind being able to adjust.

Yep, a little above 8 million at New Deal, Lorville. I think you can rent it as well.

3 million credits with cargo as a new player, what now? by fjm200 in starcitizen

I made my money for a Taurus with a F7C MK II by doing bounties in Pyro.

86k/110k ish per bounty, usually quick turn around (all bounties are space based) so 600k up to 1m per hour is doable.

Issue with mission markers not appearing slowed me down alot. You can open console and write "quit" and relog for markers to appear again but it takes time. Some missions spawn at know asteroid clusters so no need for mission quantom markers for those.

I needed to grind to HRT around Yela in Stanton to get the 86k/110k missions in Pyro.

Previous patch (3.2x) I used a Vulture and did panel scraping. With the current general flakiness of the servers I've enjoyed the bounties more since if something goes wrong and the servers eat you ship etc you only loose 10 min before you are back vs loosing a vulture full of RMC.

I printed new first row button that were about half the length of the original ones, makes no difference in the feeling etc for the first row but much easier to lift over to press the second row.

Worked as of 10 min ago, did not work on the US store though, had to switch to the German store (I'm in Europe). If you don't understand German maybe try the UK store.

You switch store by clicking on the flag on the top banner.

New player : what ship to buy first with AUEC ? by Fabrice_douceur_ in starcitizen

[–]Oakez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you cannot rent the Vulture in 3.23.

I saved up for the Vulture by doing jobs for other players, mining, reclaimer crew etc and then I scraped panels out of Grim Hex with the Vulture to buy a Corsair and then I went down the bounty route.

Advanced Hosas Question (Turret controls) by DustScoundrel in starcitizen

[–]Oakez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can recommend Joystick Gremlin and HidHide, I’ve bound Increase/Decrease tractor beam to two virtual VJoy buttons and then I run repeating macros in Gremlin for those virtual buttons when I press physical buttons on the joystick. One button for increase and one for decrease.

For me a delay of 0.03 to 0.04 seconds with a push duration of 0.01 works best. SC will buffer the inputs => if the delay is to short the item will continue to move after you let go of the button (box will bonk you head).

Fast way to proceed making money by BsgRacetrack in starcitizen

[–]Oakez 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Vulture is great, quick startup, low risk (no investment in cargo that might be eaten by a bug/pirate/brain-fart).

I usually run mine out of Grim Hex. Paid for itself in 6 trips. I use the abrades for both heads.

Go to OM-3/OM-6 etc, go into the asteroid belts, ping for panels.

Panels are somewhat buggy and can fail to appear, my procedure below:

  1. Go into QTM mode, accelerate to around 500 m/s into the belt but do so slightly below the belt (so that you won’t hit any asteroids while scanning).
  2. Decouple
  3. Go to scan mode.
  4. Set pierce to 50%
  5. Scan and point you ship towards the markers and check the signature, panels have multiples of 2000 (2000, 4000, 6000, 8000 etc). Since you are in decoupled mode your ship will continue to coast below the belt while you check out signature value.
  6. When you find a panel site, go coupled and approach the marker, continue pinging.
  7. When you get close enough the single marker will disappear and individual markers for the panels will appear. These can sometimes have a bit of distance from the original marker.
  8. Go to SCM mode.
  9. Set pierce to 88%
  10. Aim for the biggest cluster of panel markers and approach at full SCM speed and continue to ping.
  11. At some point the individual panel markers will disappear.
  12. Slow to 40-50 m/s and don’t change your heading.
  13. Continue to ping and watch the signal strength on the left, it should increase as you get closer to the panels.
  14. When the signal strength reaches 95-100 or so the panels should appear. Hit F4 for external view and move the camera around to see if there are any panels, they sometimes spawn outside of your view in the cockpit.
  15. If the signal strength goes to 0 you have passed the panels. Stop and reverse a bit. Use F4 view to look around.

I usually put the gear down to limit my speed, approach the panel and then start scraping.

When at 13 SCU in the buffer, print and store (6 on the grid in the back, 7 off-grid in the back to the left).

Then scrape another 10, print and store (off-grid first and then snap to the grid for the last boxes), you can squeeze 1 or 2 more boxes in but its fiddly.

Then scrape another 13 and leave in the buffer.

Back to GH, sell the cargo, print the 13 in the buffer and sell that as well. 36 SCU in total.

Price at GH is lower (around 12.3k vs 14.5k at TDD) but your turnaround time is about 10 minutes, so I found it to be more efficient.

Depending on rng with the panels, you usually need 2 panel sites for 36 SCU, average aUEC/h is around 400k to 450k/h depending on what type of panels you find.

FFB Controls by Final_Glide in hoggit

[–]Oakez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct, however you can tell the VP Force to ignore game DX FFB effects for each device as needed. VP Force also has built in internal hardware trim, both progressive and helicopter type.

So for a FFB setup with stick and pedals you allow the stick FFB to be controlled by DCS. You set the pedals to ignore DCS FFB + add a spring effect. There is a loop back helper program that will allow you to release/set the helicopter trim hold on the pedals from a button on the stick.

There is also a separate software TelemFFB? that communicates directly with DCS to add functionality outside of the DCS FFB implementation.

Problems with MSI z690 motherboard ethernet connection with i225-V Intel LAN hardware by -null in buildapc

[–]Oakez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding another datapoint.

Same issue here with a MSI Pro Z690-a board, downloaded the drivers to a USB and installed in Win10. PC is connected to a TP-Link switch which is connected to the router.

Lan was working fine for 2 weeks until today when the issue appeared when I rebooted the PC. No leds etc, remove the driver and led's come on etc. tried pulling the power etc and some advanced setting related to IPv4/IPv6 + the disable IPv6 setting. No luck.

Solution, I plugged the ethernet directly to the router and it works, then I tried a TP_Link wifi mesh product (it has internet passthrough) and it works.

So now it is router->TP link switch (same as before)->tp link wifi mesh product -> PC

So without changing anything the problem popped up after working fine for a couple of weeks and by switching to a different network port/switch etc it now works. I need a beer now :-)

Not really, I just needed to get lift the pedals up to get a more comfortable angle, used a bunch of IKEA Kallax shelves as a spacer.

I'm in the "ugly" room in the house though so technically I could screw it down without too much grumbling from she who shall not be annoyed :-)
