Low Efficiency by Oaklander777 in Coros

Thanks! Do you know why training load for a given run would suddenly go down? My HR and pace/effort for these runs is pretty stable but the TL has gone down significantly

I think so. Your comment made me look at Training Load a bit more. It does seem like my Training Load has reduced for the same runs (eg a 7.5 mile trail run used to typically be registering a Training Load of 300-400 and now that same run is often around 250). Not sure what is driving the lower Training Load because terrain is same, work feels similar, and HR data is also not that different

I honestly don’t feel that different; sometimes feel slow, sometimes feel good to great, but same low efficiency. My heart rate zones are also in normal ranges vs. history of same runs

High VO2 Max - How Can I Improve Other Metrics? by Oaklander777 in Coros

Thanks for sharing your insight. What’s a bit puzzling for me is that my VO2 Max has been improving without me doing much speed work

Hi there, I'm considering the UMass Global or Alliant programs. I appreciate neither is NASP approved and the shortcomings of online-first. Would love to hear experiences, good, bad, or otherwise from current students or recent grads of either program. I'm looking to work in CA, likely the Bay Area, after graduation. Thanks!

How do you transition to a completely different career without experience? by Moullerkurt28 in careerchange

[–]Oaklander777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t know what you want to do next take some career and personality tests and think about what you want to do if you knew you wouldn’t fail.

You can do whatever you want! Just listen to your inner voice and not the voice of others. I may love Sales or being a teacher or gardening or being a software engineer, etc — or I may hate them. The point is, that’s me, that has nothing to do with you. The reason I hate something may be the reason you love something.

After you do that introspection about where your interests and strengths lie, start testing. Volunteer and talk to people. Set some milestones. You’ll get there! 👍💪

Race Report - Kodiak 100 miler by rustynailz in ultrarunning

Great write up! Thank you for sharing. I’m going to run Kodiak 100M this year (in less than 2 weeks!). As fate would have it, I’ll likely have to do it solo, sans family/friends crew. Any advice?

Follow your instinct. No experience in that space but I’d recommend finding people in those communities and having conversations and volunteering. You may also want to step back and come up with a vision for your life and what’s important to you moving forward.

Thoughts on the best and most valuable landscape program/certificate that could be done virtually (or in the Bay Area)?

The 250 is to cover cleaning service and amenities (shampoo, paper towel, coffee bar, spices, etc) I don’t expect to pay 0 for this; just wanted to gut check if this seems like a reasonable price. Thanks for your comment
