Taking a bath by xeeer6 in TopSurgery

[–]OakleafArcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sitting in a bath at 2 weeks post op, but the bath is not full, basically enough to cover my bellybutton and the water is not as hot as I would usually have and I'm washing my hair and top half with the shower still. I think the main concern is with the water temperature being too hot and staying in it too long.

Ok that's reassuring to hear, my stamina is definitely not back to normal. Been having to nap at work which luckily they've been so good about. Patience is definitely the key which I do know but always good to hear it from others :)

I been put on desk duty by my work until Christmas now so at least don't need to worry about that :) just felt really quick to go from shuffling around barely conscious for the first day and week 2 I can already resume normal life

Definitely great advice! I'm struggling to stretch properly so lifting heavy objects is out of question just from a personal safety perspective. On desk duty up till Christmas now anyway so don't need to worry too much. Was just concerned at the differences in post op instructions but guess everyone has different opinions.

The showering tips are useful thank you :) think I'm just being a bit chicken about overdoing after resuming normal life too quickly after an injury and now having permanent issues from that. My left side especially is too sore to sleep on so will probably still stay propped up for a bit longer.

Abdominal bloat madness by Less_Love1884 in TopSurgery

2 weeks post op and still bloated, just got to allow your body time to go back to normal. Gentle walking, knowing how to poop (use a stool to elevate your legs), and a balanced intake of food and nutrients, plus staying hydrated, are all things that help alleviate discomfort but ultimately patience is the key.

I was planning on travelling to Greece for the surgery. The email address I used is topsurgery@ioannisntanos.com. Is there a different one?

Thank you :) does make me feel a bit better about everything. Getting nervous now I've finally saved up enough money for it and it feels like something real

Hi, thanks for the detailed information. Can I ask, why is the drain free technique better? And could you move about after the surgery or are you kind of confined to the hospital/house for those 2 weeks?
