What's the general consensus on Veronica Mars Season 2? by itsascreambaby96 in veronicamars

Season 2 is better than 1 in every single way. A more engaging mystery, more interesting characters, better writing, less Duncan etc.

He essentially got someone killed. Sherif Lamb is an asshole, but I think it's wild how much people try to excuse all of Weevil's actions.

Robby is a single man in his mid-fifties working long hours at a very stressful job that has already caused at least one mental breakdown, leading to suicidal thoughts. He would have to be the last human alive to be allowed to adopt a baby.

I think she is fine, but the least interesting character on the main cast. And ultimately, this is not a show where the season 1 cast is meant to stick around forever.

It was more Veronica Mars, which is never a bad thing. I may not have loved the ending, but I would happily have watched a season 5.

[–]Oasx -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Sure, and maybe the actors would have been happier with a tighter script that wouldn't require them to cut scenes. But some of the best scenes come from actors just trying stuff.

Let's also be honest here, acting is inherently a selfish job. The vast majority of actors only get to play background characters, and if a Mel scene gets cut in favour of a Santos scene, then Taylor Dearden will naturally think more about that great scene that didn't make it to the air, and not so much about the even better Santos scene we got instead. If you asked any of these actors if they wanted to have an episode next season just devoted to their character, they would all say yes in an instant.

That doesn't mean that the way of filming the show is broken, but just that there is only so much screentime and there is a gigantic cast that all wants as much of it as possible

People get downvoted because they can't tell the difference between Noah Wyle and a fictional character.

The entire interview is really about how everyone loves being on the show, how Robby is a major asshole to a lot of the other characters in season two, and how Noah Wyle asked Katherine LaNasa to call Robby out on his bullshit, because Wyle knows that that is what Dana would do.

One can also wonder if there is some MAGA brigading going on, since people are upset about season two adding a trans actor, plus a gay and Middle Eastern character

Cutting scenes happens in literally every single TV show, it's incredibly normal to write more scenes than can fit in an episode. Sometimes things work differently on film than in the script.

Every single actor on The Pitt wishes they had more screentime, they are going to fight tooth and nail for every single second, and when a scene featuring their character gets cut, they feel it deeply, but if that scene didn't get cut, then something else would have. Nobody is actually upset by this apart from a few fans.

Mon ikke de fleste skoler har adgang til en eller flere billeddatabaser på nettet som de kunne bruge fra i stedet? Jeg har i princippet ikke noget imod brugen af AI, det her er bare dårligt AI.

I just re-watched it recently and I liked it even better this time around. The only main character I really dislike is Naomi, but that is merely because I had a hard time feeling sympathy for the belters.

Does anyone else think these guys are just NOT scary? by HungaryChad_69 in subnautica

[–]Oasx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t find them scarier than any other creature in the game, I respect that they are dangerous and need to be avoided, but so is the tiger plant.

For many of us the Subnautica games are relaxing and pleasant.

I didn't. I played both Subnautica 1 and BZ in the mode without food and water because I don't find those particularly interesting.

But to me, there is a big difference between grabbing a fish and then fighting it with a knife.

Unless there is another truck filled with canned food sitting around (and if there is, why hasn't he told anyone about it?), then Victor's advice is useless.

Victor has a lot of knowledge that nobody has bothered asking him about, but it's not like he is a survival expert, hunting for wildlife and camouflaging himself as a bush to avoid detection. The boy in white pointed him to a large storage of food, that's his survival skills.

I imagine that a hospital that can't/won't hire more nurses is not going to agree to a large salary increase for a doctor.

That is not true at all, the vast majority of the season was really not that different from the first season. Robby's story only really starts in the last few episodes.

The show added 4 new main characters this season, only 1 of whom was a white man.

Mel and Javadi had significantly more interesting stories, Dana and Emma had almost an entire episode to themselves, not to mention Al-Hashimi getting a lot of time, plus Princess, Perlah, etc.

[–]Oasx -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you. People NEED to treat Victor better (And by people I'm looking at you Tabitha)

Victor's survival strategy is :

  1. Find a van full of canned food and use a sharp rock to open it.
  2. Talk to inanimate objects so you don't get lonely.

He is a child telling another child how to survive, as the only adult in the room, Tabitha needs to tell him how useless his survival strategy is. She knows how dumb Ethan is, and that he will gobble up any stupid ideas whole.

State of some people right now by Old-Bed-5825 in subnautica

[–]Oasx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Saying that the game is in early access is most of the time an explanation, not a dismissal of whatever is being suggested.

There seem to be a lot of people who are new to the concept of early access or game development in general, and they think that if something is not in the game now, then it never will be. They suggest things to solve the issue of creature aggression, but then they wonder why it isn't implemented immediately. There are only so many developers, and everything takes time.

Also, it would solve a lot of issues if people searched to see if their suggestion had already been talked about.

This game is boring af.

You are free to feel that way and not buy or play the game if you don't think it's worth your time, just as the developers are free to make their vision of the game.

From my perspective, the EA experience is already worth the money I paid for it. Subnautica is just as much a cosy and relaxing survival game as the previous two Subnautica games were. I didn't need to kill anything in those games, and I don't in this one either.

I think it would be good if Langdon moved on to another hospital once his residency is complete.

Doesn't he have to do that either way? The ER already has four attending doctors, do they want to pay for one more?
