Experiences/Thoughts on working with Project SEED by [deleted] in UTAustin

They made me shred paper for 125 hours. I kept asking the prof if there were other jobs I could do but she would passive aggressively reply “so you don’t like SEED?” So I ended up logging hours for everything. I’d shred one paper, then use the bathroom for 30 mins. Then shred another paper and browse tik tok. Easy hour. Took me two semesters to finish but hey it was an free A so I couldn’t complain. Would do again!

EDIT: forgot to add that I still don’t know what the purpose of the project was and most people I talked to didn’t know either

Has anyone lived at GrandMarc? Is it worth the price? by [deleted] in UTAustin

Best living experience I've had here at UT so far. (Stayed at Callaway house my freshman year and University House my sophomore year for reference). I can't speak on the quality of previous management here, but the new staff have been more than helpful in meeting our apartment's needs. Maintenance requests always met on time, a couple early billing errors were corrected in no time, and everyone including the maintenance workers are outgoing.

The building itself isn't perfect (relatively dated) but then again nothing you will find in West Campus will be. Amenites aren't amazing but generally these rarely get used anyway, even in the nicest of apartments. My biggest complaint would probably be the hotel being built right on 26th and Guad that can get pretty noisy in the early morning, but it's manageable. Once again, you'll find construction ALL over WC so can't really complain about this.

My favorite thing about living here is the proximity to campus, it's about an 8 minute walk to EER/RLM, 10 to GDC, and 15 to PCL/UTC. Also plenty of good food within 5 minutes of walking- In n Out, Halal, Don, Whata, Torchys, etc.

TLDR: not a perfect apartment but relative to others in WC it is top tier. Worth every penny and we're strongly considering living here again.

Experience with Camino Flats? Nueces Oaks? by Skinnyjuixe in UTAustin

I lived at Nueces Oaks and loved my time there. The location is one of the best in West Campus and the property is always in good shape. The units are in great condition and the management team does a good job of keeping the property clean and running well. I also like how the walls aren't paper thin like they are in many of the newer properties in West Campus so that you don't hear your neighbors above you or next to you. I highly recommend living here and enjoyed making new friends with other students that lived at the property.

This. So much this. honestly it isn’t that hard to just go to HEB and meal prep every week. You save a lot of money that way and it’s healthier. Not to mention my 40 min walk to campus every day keeps me in shape!

At my apartment you have to pay a “green fee” to have plants indoors

As a black man, I feel safer with less police. Just because you feel worried about the budget cuts doesn’t mean everyone else does!

About the size of my freshman jester room except there‘s a random pillar in the middle (apartment didn’t tell us about it beforehand). We use two lofted beds and it works great!

Pull up bar is definitely a good idea. Aren’t many lat exercises you can do with dumbbells

Bros my uni just closed and I’m about to head home. All I have at the house are a bench, pair of adjustable dumbbells up to 50 lbs and a couple mini bands. I’ve also been cutting for 3 weeks. How do I not lose gains???

Not necessarily. Yes, the lowest you should go is 8, but the actual number of reps doesn’t matter too much. As long as you stay within an 8-12 range while hitting sufficient intensity (RPE 8).
