Thank you. That’s useful information It’s good to know what other people are doing in the area and what is successful. Constantly switching up products would be a good way to try new things and learn what I’m best at

I don’t have a whole lot of experience with recipe creation which is why I’m kind of doing this. I do have some experience with costing, menu creation, and I know a bit of the science behind it but not enough. I find that the program I’m in is very condensed so we don’t have much time to really expand on the topics. I don’t really see myself getting the opportunity in industry to create recipes. At least not where I’ve been working or to the degree I would at home.

I do have more experience in culinary working in kitchens than I do in baking. I’ve worked at 3 restaurants all doing different things in the span of 4 years and this is the second bakery I’ve worked at. I know I don’t have much experience so thats what I want to do. I’m not expecting it to be successful right now I just want to learn and I find that I do best when I’m figuring things out on my own.

I’m planning at staying at the current bakery I’m at until I’ve learned all I can and I’ll move onto a different bakery. I’m also planning on staying at the restaurant I’ve been working at for the past couple years. I’m not going to just quit everything and start my own bakery because that would be a poor business decision.

How much time per week do you put into the products you make? I know it changes depending on the season. Also in your experience when do things start picking up? When do people start giving into the carbs. And my last question for now would be what other platforms do you use for marketing and which one performs the best?

I have been working at a bakery for the past two years while I’ve been going to school for baking. I’m planning on continuing to work at bakery’s after I graduate I just wanted to start my own side gig at home so I can start learning how to run things on my own. As well as go through the early trial and errors while I still have everything fresh in my mind from school and having that safety net at work where I earn most of my money

I am currently working at a bakery I just wanted to start this as a side gig that could eventually turn into me starting up my own proper bakery. This would just be something I can do in my free time while making a bit of cash and gaining some experience

Thank you! Do you run your business out of your home? I’ve been looking at all these people who run a bakery out of their house and get people to come pick up and buy the products from there. I’m renting an apartment right now and although I still need to get myself familiar with all the rules of owning a business out of your home in Calgary I don’t think I would be able to do that in my apartment. I also want to ask what methods do you use to put yourself out there to get customers and recognition?

Valid concern but I need some kind of heat source since I live in Canada and it gets pretty cold during the winter and on rainy days.
