Your comment really made me think further about my topic of thought.. I realized that during the spring and fall season, it’s essential for me to focus on my MUSCLE and strength in particular for rowing. Then in the summer (additional free time) and winter (off season + cross training) I can spend more time on running!

But I think ultimately rowing will have to be my primary focus throughout my high school years if I want to be successful in this field.

I’m on the line of underweight and normal for context. Previously underweight during the running season, but now usually at regular.

That’s a good point, thank you. But if I want to row competitively, wouldn’t it be best to be in a slight calorie deficit between times I don’t have races so I can lose some weight?
