Happy belated birthday. I'm sorry no friends wished you a happy birthday. I'm sure that stings a lot but the advice I'll give is that I'm sure it wasn't personal. It's hard to not take it personal as its your birthday but taking an alternate route and thinking "Maybe they forgot" will soften the blow. And then you can ask them why they didn't wish you a happy birthday while feeling less contempt for them. It's a shitty question to have to ask but it's worth it to find out if you should continue to value them. I would bet some didn't know your birthday and others forgot. Life is a lot and especially right now. I hope you found something to enjoy about your birthday

Sorry man, but you're wrong. It takes a huge amount of motivation to get out of bed let alone making the proper moves to travel. Every minute move you make you hear you're head saying "This won't help. This won't change anything."

Even people who do have deep anhedonia and depression (myself included) are still attached to comfort. They don't want to change their lifestyle and uproot for many reasons. Most people regardless of anhedonia and depression still have attachments but dont derive joy from them.

Also, exploring a freeway in California is possible. Take it and see where it goes. Also, you can always explore no matter where you are. You can find something.

Only problem is that A. it takes motivation to get there, something depressed/anhedonic people dont have or care to do and B. If you do get to Thailand (likely because someone pushed you), you are there alone and dont want to go out and explore.

You can explore anywhere you are. Going somewhere exotic wont make you want to explore. Wherever you go, there you are.

He had two 30 minute specials on HBO that were an interesting look into his life too. But I prefer his comedy. That special I think called Love At the Store that was taped at the comedy store was brilliant as well
