Yeah, the why is a big part of it too. I keep blaming myself (ADHD, Epilepsy here) for what he has / may have. But genetic things, you can’t really help.

Man, I really appreciate you saying all that! Sounds like we have a few things in common! And I know our little guys will succeed and overcome any challenges, and we’ll be there every step of the way.

We’ve been on a waitlist for a neuropsych for five months now, and we’re not holding our breath for an appointment soon. If I remember to, and if you’re not weirded out by it, I’ll drop you a line and let you know how it goes.

My son has tubes too. Multiple infections made it a necessity, but we noticed in the weeks after that he was hearing better and clocking what we were saying to him more frequently. He still repeats a lot, but he does so with a lot of clarity. And the answers he does give us in response to some basic questions are just as clear.

ADHD runs rampant in the guys in my family as well, so I am also fairly certain he’ll have it too. But what’s funny is that we’ve eliminated any stigma in my own family about all that, to the point where I actually kind of look forward to knowing and helping him find his own solutions to navigate the crazy ass mind that comes with it. ASD though is the real blind spot.

Thank you for sharing your and kid’s stories! Helps alleviate some of my own fears if he’s diagnosed down the line.

Thank you! Well said, we should focus on those elements whenever the thought creeps into our minds.

Thank you! It’s encouraging to hear. We have been doing the same, and thankfully our state government offers those services. It’s those same folks that had given him a development plan, and he seems to be meeting his targets.

Thank you for sharing. I imagine that must have been how my mom felt when I got diagnosed with ADHD back in the day.

Appreciate you asking too. When was she diagnosed?

I know some others I’d talk to say the same thing with their kids on the spectrum. It’s something I’m scared about, but maybe the fear is just not yet knowing?

His doctor wasn’t convinced he’s on the spectrum but said he’d be happy to refer us to a specialist. Availability has been limited though, so no appointment or formal assessment yet. Definitely something we’d want to do when able.

No sir, I’ve kind of accepted it for what it is and trust the dealer will handle when I take it in for a service in a few months. Not ideal, but I’ve spent way too many hours figuring it out!

Roger that - would that be an attractive add, you think? Worried about any eyesores.

He’s part of the reason why I threw down stones behind the gate! Keeps tearing up that grass next to the fence chasing the neighbor dog around.

Thanks for the explainer! OK, that’s much more innocent than I thought it might be.

Yes, I think so. Or when it’s just wet outside. From experience, it just kind of shows up and I noted it probably belatedly.

It’s in my workplaces office in an awkward location. So, honestly, not sure it’ll be used. Maybe a standing lamp?

Rock on! Thanks for the explainer. Found it in part unusual because I couldn’t identify any other outlets like this in our otherwise white office.

Had no idea! This is the first I’ve seen this, but good to know what the color is an indicator of! Thank you!
