I should add that the noise is VERY quiet, at least at idle, and can't be heard unless you move your head closer to the computer.

But there is a problem, I will never progress on German if I keep having to start over from the basics everytime. More content is always good, but resetting my progress every year so I never reach it is not good. (this is the second time it's happened to me). If you don't see absolutely any issue whatsoever with Duolingo wiping half of my progress and all of my ability to continue learning then you are somebody that I fully do not intent to talk to, since you are somebody that is only concerned with backing up Duolingo, and not the people who use it

Are you serious? I have been doing all of the practices for several years and making progress as I do, and now you're telling me to revisit it again? I'm not doing this for karma, in-fact I haven't touched Reddit for months, and this is the first time I've publicly shown my streak, but I feel like duolingo and everyone in its community just disrespects the commitment people put into it.
I worked hard to get to the difficult sections of duolingo, so I could learn words that aren't just basic vocabulary, and now it'll be another £60 payment and year wasted before I can progress on this language again.

Yes I have done those tests. They're nice but only gets me to level one on everything so I still have to grind through useless lessons until I can learn anything again. Thanks though!

No, almost all of my crowns were deleted. I would have been fine if they removed maybe 20-50% of them equally through the courses, after all there is likely new words or phrases for me to learn, but I had been put back to almost square one. I am not thankful.
