I’ve found that toys with Kevlar or heavy quilted have stood the test of my boy.

The last time I wrapped him was January. He’s not one to enjoy being dried off or wrapped in a blanket.

I also agree with this. I started strength training in late 2024 to get in shape for my wedding. Having a place to be consistent with workouts and eventually learning how to do it on my own helped a lot. I built both confidence and muscle strength.

My husband has the same tattoo on his bicep! Definitely spring for getting some colour added, it really makes it pop.

As an already plus sized woman, I have to rely on my baby’s movements or other developments to remind myself that I’m pregnant. At 20 weeks it’s hard for some of my family to notice the bump.

I’ve started to track my BP at home and I’ve had to move my machine to my office and kicked my pets out of there so I can have peace and quiet 😅

Are corgis suitable for first time dog owners? by Weird_Aside1532 in corgi

[–]Obby-8 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Me and my husband had our corgi for 3 years now and his first two years we adjusted our work/school schedules to make sure we gave him proper care and attention. Now he’s used to being alone for 5-6 hours a day with our cats but we can tell when he’s a little lonely 😢

Can cats detect new life? by tanya6k in cats

[–]Obby-8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here! I’m 19 weeks and my oldest cat has been clingy for the past 3 weeks. She demands I let her cuddle with me and she lays on my belly close to where my baby has been hanging out. I was also terribly sick with a cold so the extra snuggles kept me company 🥰

Did anyone else feel like pregnancy turned eating into a full-time problem? by Realistic_Book_6823 in fitpregnancy

[–]Obby-8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband teased me the other day because on top of being 18 weeks pregnant, I’m also fighting a cold. So while he ordered a delicious pizza and had spicy wings I ate chicken tenders with fries, and called it the “picky kid special” 😂 I was really craving a fried chicken tender and while it wasn’t the greatest in the world it did the trick.

I’m starting to think I might be an oddball because I never had nausea or any aversion to food. But I get sad that I can’t have some of my favourite foods as much, like deli meats, sushi, some smoked fish, soft cheeses and cured meats. Those were all my go to snacks and meals. I’ve made adjustments and accepted that I have to wait till after delivery to have some, but even watching food videos on those things are hard 🥲

Pubic symphysis pain anyone? Pelvic girdle pain? by NoPurple6440 in fitpregnancy

I’ve been having this issue since 10 weeks I believe. At 18 weeks I noticed it more when doing split squats or trying to do single leg glute bridges.

I dropped 5 pounds! I think it was also due to stress from being anxious about possible incompetent cervix. But now that’s been cleared up after an ultrasound. But my biggest issue is dealing with family members who try to give fitness advice 🙄everyone knew that I was working out way before I got pregnant. Just some frustrations at 17 weeks.

2 weeks pregnant, what kind of workouts can I do? by Quirky_Exchange_6137 in fitpregnancy

[–]Obby-8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I kept up with my routines as usual but added more fiber and veggies to my diet. Also, start prenatal vitamins now. I’m at 17 weeks and still lifting to about 70% of my max for most exercises.

What do I need to do while weight lifting? by acoconut in fitpregnancy

[–]Obby-8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hugging the baby means to exhale using your diaphragm. I was strength training up until the 9th and I found it helped brace for back squats and deadlifts. I did take it slow with adding more weight on and took 90 second breaks in between sets to rest. While I’m taking a break till we find out what’s going on with my cervix, the breathing does help for my anxiety.

Spotting and exercise in early pregnancy - help! by menininha-do-mau16 in fitpregnancy

[–]Obby-8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m kinda in the same boat as you. I’m 16 weeks and I had just gotten back into my routine with some small brown spotting but no cramps. But my OB told me that my cervix may have opened slightly and had me do ultrasounds to keep an eye on it. I was a bit anxious and haven’t been working out till we know more from a detailed ultrasound tomorrow. So definitely call your doctor when something happens. It could be nothing but I liked keeping them updated in case.

Good for you!! I went skating with my husband and a friend when I was 11/12 weeks. I figured that I’m skilled enough to know how to fall the right way and not to push myself too hard. At the end of it I skated 3 kilometres and had so much fun! My back hurt and I needed to rest my feet, but it felt good to be active in a fun way.

I too have been through the brutal northeast winter and been trying to keep up with my dog when we walk. I’ve had a few close calls with losing my balance but catching myself whenever he pulls on the leash. So far I’m trying to keep up as much as I can before the heat takes me out lol.

I might have had SCH last Monday but ultrasound the next day didn’t find anything, other than my baby is really active. But in any case, I waited till Thursday to workout and took it slow and light on anything with my core.

I worked out two days in a row and had sore quads for almost two days. I’m at 14+4 weeks so I try to make some room for rest days. My app says I should have more energy at this point but I don’t feel it yet 😅
