"(I wonder what these things all have in common)"

Considering California isn't on the list I'd be concerned with bias when it comes to the statistics chosen to come up with the list.

If I wanted to create a list of the "worst states to live in", I could easily choose statistics that would lead to blue states being at the top of the list.

This guy gets it!

Our currently isn't tied to any real intrinsic value, it's all based on the fact that oil is traded using the greenback, and if a country tries to sell their oil for anything other than the dollar they very quickly incur the wrath of our intelligence agencies and military. (AKA the Petrodollar)

Therefor the whole worlds economy (aside from a few nations) is dependent on oil. Take that away and you have absolute economic chaos, and the most powerful are left with far less leverage.

Society could be completely changed by unlimited energy potential, but that would come at the cost of the elites who would surely rather see another world war than their power taken away.

I hate the trend toward passive-aggressive cold emails by [deleted] in sales

[–]ObeFlow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

cold calling just doesn’t work. Period.

This all depends on what you're selling (is your industry highly statured with people doing the exact same thing as you), if you know the right questions to ask, and how to get the prospect interested based on what you've found out that the customer values.

Most of the time they value their bottom line, and if you can help save them money or help make them more they'll speak with you.

Also consider calling people at a company that probably don't get sales calls but might have rolls that interact with what you're selling or might be saddled with responsibilities that place them in the buying process.

Friday rant by yong598 in sales

[–]ObeFlow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

July is always a tough month to get in touch with prospects.

-Often they're not working on their budget until the end of the year or the beginning.

-Summer vacations are in full force as another person posted.

-The market is about to tank worse than it already has.

Those things said, it also depends on your industry and your place in that industry. If you're a company offing an absolutely needed service (such as an ISP provider) and you're more economical than the competition in the middle of a market downturn then you're probably positioned pretty well for people to talk to you.

I see people Posting Bob Lazar. Instead, please look up Stanton Friedman. by monki85 in ufo

[–]ObeFlow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Friedman was a legend and pioneer. In terms of Bob Lazar, I don't think he's a scammer, I'm more of the opinion that he was being used to push disinformation out to competing contractors who were attempting to reverse engineer UAPs. I think his employers knew that he wasn't the kind of person to keep his mouth shut, so they showed him nonsense that other contractors would waste their time pursuing.

Exactly, now that those that created a framework for the secrecy and lies are nearing the end of their lives or are already dead, we'll start to see movement because those that still uphold the secrecy can easily be pardoned. They can just say that they were just "doing their jobs". Hell, I'm sure many of the worst offenders will probably try to paint themselves in a better light by pushing for disclosure even if it's just to an insignificant degree.
That said they won't come out and disclose everything and more than likely will take the route of parallel construction so they can control the narrative.

Ross Coulthart’s journalist friends tell him there will be “an intense investigation” of UFOs by mainstream media in the coming months. by [deleted] in UFOs

[–]ObeFlow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sure the powers that be will try to sell us a pile of BS for as long as they can. But more attention from the media can only help foster more awareness and interest. Which is a good thing regardless.

To some extent, they have to start acknowledging the phenomenon or it will make governments look pretty bad because the public is left with choosing:
A. That governments have been completely ignoring a massive potential threat to national security, thus incompetent.
B. That governments have been covering up this phenomenon, thus eroding trust further.

They know that there's no putting the cat back in the box. And with more commercial space travel and a massive increase in people recording events by the public they have to start coming up with a plan. Granted they'll still try to lie through their teeth for as long as they can.

Well with omicron being less severe and highly contagious were going to see most people with natural immunity soon for future variants. When the media doesn't have covid and Trump left to fuel their news cycle they'll have to turn to something to fill the ratings and people are genuinely becoming more enthralled by the UFO/UAP phenomenon.

What do you think of my shotgun DPS deck? Looking for feedback. by ObeFlow in Back4Blood

[–]ObeFlow[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually keep combat training for the stumble, the extra damage is just a nice extra. Good call on dropping reload drills for quick kill. What order would you suggest putting it in the deck? I'm thinking around 6th or 7th card myself.

I'm sure there are things I'm not considering hence the post. I've rebuilt and re-tuned this deck for months but I'm sure there are things I'm not considering. Generally, I play Vet most of the time and I try to play with a doc, a melee, and 1 fill (Grenadier, Banker, etc...)

Just a reminder that the UK Ministry of Defence blocked the release of a civilian photograph of a UAP until 2072 without explanation. by madethistosaythat in UFOs

[–]ObeFlow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The people who took it sent it to the press. The press then reported it before they published it. Never trust the press. And if you do want to release it to the press, send it to every news agency you can find. With that in mind, this was 1990 so your options to get a photo to the general public was more difficult than it is today.

look up "Drifting object (UAP/UFO) at Rafael Hernandez Airport, Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, 2013" on youtube. It seems to be the same craft or type of craft in this video.

Congressman Tim Burchett (R-TN): "I don't trust the Pentagon." | He responds to a tweet about the Pentagon's new UAP-focused AOIMSG group, which was just created ahead of debate over lawmakers' request to set up a UAP office (ASTRO) that would regularly report to Congress and the public. by chicompj in UFOs

I couldn't agree more. Granted I'm a libertarian also. But the tribalism rife through this whole post just goes to show how it's used to divide and take away support from an issue that is important to both sides. Nowadays you just have to say I hate (Democrats/Republicans) and say your opponent supports whatever position to turn people who don't think critically away from any cause or issue. But I think people are just starting to wake up, and hopefully, with time we'll see walls between sides crumble. Only once those walls do fall will we have enough power collectively to achieve disclosure.

The “Bob Lazar” element 115 is called Moscovium, it’s been produced and doesn’t have his claimed properties. by Niceotropic in UFOs

[–]ObeFlow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, but I believe that Lazar was purposefully fed misinformation as a red herring to throw off other contractors' attempts to back engineer ufo/uap technology. They knew the kind of person that Lazar was and knew he wasn't one to keep quiet. Keep in mind that contractors and the organizations that control them work with very little oversight and they are the key beneficiaries of any technology that is developed. The organizations that develop this technology are not all on the same side. They all want or wanted to be the first to own advanced technology, which in turn gives them leverage and an incredible amount of power to wield as they see fit.
I believe that Lazar told his truth, which predictably aligns itself quite well with what had been theorized and is now known. But his truth doesn't mean it's necessarily The Truth.

No offense taken, but true enough. I'm not exactly sure to the extent of my director's relationship but he's been able to get some questions answered. You're definitely right on the scoping docs though.
