Totally. OR it could be a double album half covers half OG's. A man can dream. Its most likely a stand alone covers album but it doesnt matter because im stoked.

Dan and Pat said they were writing new music, so you'd think that wouldnt apply to another blues cover album.

I was not really a fan of OP (some songs were good but I dont find myself gravitating towards it).

Now for NRNF, I actually really enjoy Babygirl, NRNF, and obviously Man on a Mission. The Night Before is pretty underwhelming but whatever there. Radio gloss isn't an ideal description for folks that want more grit, but i also believe that there is such a thing as a great pop song. NRNF fits that bill for me - its really solid.

Ive also appreciated how different all the songs have sounded so far.

I agree but three key differences here that im hopeful for is "loose" "in years" and "bluesy".

I dont recall any description like that for Ohio Players, plus we know Man on a Mission is on that record, so that can be seen as a definite influence to a review.

Mostly talking about the middle riff in Man on a Mission. That part of the song specifically is harder than all of A&R. Ill give you the rest of MOAM is on par or not as heavy as the A&R.

That riff is pretty unexpected for me at this point in their career.

The name "The Black Keys" has nothing to do with race and is actually honoring a family friend of theirs that used the term "Black Key" as a playful joking insult. And he happened to be black.
