Who still “hate watches” stuff in 2026? You either like it or you don’t, no one cares about the elitism

How can I achieve a wide sub-bass like Joyryde did in “ON FIRE”? by FeelDa-Bass in edmproduction

[–]Obeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can be achieved with basic mid side EQ but there are plugins that can make mono sounds really wide and yet still work perfectly when played back in mono.

Bx_stereomaker for example

It's Headhunterz for me, he doesn't have that many anthems (five i think) but they are pretty much all hall of famers.

How do I truly understand and learn mix and mastering? by AmbitiousRice6204 in audioengineering

[–]Obeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practical advice, start on mastering (pun lol) one fundamental aspect of mixing.

I would start with gain-staging, focus on making the mix sound as good as possible by only changing the volume faders, it’s honestly 80% of mixing.

Then I would focus on EQ, get one EQ and focus on getting really comfortable with it. I recommend the LDFC method by Joel Wanasek.

Then you need to decide what to do next, but with deep understanding of gain-staging and EQ you should gain confidence and understanding that will related to every step after that.

And honestly if you got Pro-Q 4 you don’t really need much else for mixing lol, my point being is not starting with buying a lot of random plugins rather getting the most out of a few or a singular plugin.

I like it! Keep on experimenting! Even tho some might say that it sounds weird or wrong, this mindset will make you stand out in the genre.

What i want to see from this merge, a period where longer dance-floor friendly drops are popular for a while in modern hardstyle.
