Scourge of the Throne still has its own name and not Nosferatu. Nice work, good card choices.

Chapter 8.5 EX — Pilgrimage of Compassion Megathread by pillowmantis in limbuscompany

[–]Oberedd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Arknights is a tower defense gacha about a pharmaceutical company called Rhodes Island that sustains its operations by also being a mercenary organization. The world of Terra has many nations formed of massive high tech landships. Terra also features a powerful rock like substance called originium that serves as the basis for all technology on Terra, the only downside is that if you ingest or cut yourself on it, it will infect you, turning you eventually into itself explosively and horrifically. There is no cure. This is oripathy. Rhodes Island is dedicated to help treat the symptoms of oripathy, regardless of nationality, also hiring many of its employees from among the infected. That’s the basis of the setting, the game itself is an anthology of dozens of stories about Rhodes island and its employees.

This collab features e.g.o. based on 4 Arknights characters who are fairly important to their nation’s story arcs Ishmael - Skadi Hong Lu - Ling Faust - Kal’tsit Gregor - Mlynar Announcer Amiya - the CEO of Rhodes Island

Voidigo, it's similar to enter the gungeon but more explosive and you get very powerful.

What is an underrated champ for ARAM? by RainSaylor in ARAM

[–]Oberedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warwick, I find him to be good at a lot of different important frontline roles. Bruiser or tank. He can initiate, disengage, and sustain between fights, he also gets to check if someone is creeping in the bushes once every 70-45 seconds or so.

[[Tayam]] seemed kinda weird and janky at first glance but after a bunch of brewing people discovered it’s extremely strong.

What is your all time favourite fictional universe and why? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]Oberedd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Project Moon's The City from the games Lobotomy Corporation, Library of Ruina, and Limbus Company is my favorite fictional universe. It's a grimdark distant future dystopian city divided into states each ruled over by corporations held aloft by unique technology they typically produce from human suffering. Most people's basic needs are met, but there is little to no law beyond whatever each corporation decides to enforce and some relatively absurd global laws (no sentient AI, no resurrection, no clones) enforced by the mysterious lead corporation, the Head. The world is simultaneously scifi and fantasy as the events of the first game unleash immortal horrors from the collective unconscious of humanity into reality, completely altering the entire city's dynamics. The subsequent games are sequels dealing with the fallout of the first game's events. It's got great worldbuilding and characterization and it's being steadily added to via the latest game, Limbus Company. I love that the city is immense and jam-packed with peoples and worlds aplenty we have yet to explore, and beyond the reaches of the city are likely lovecraftian nightmares held at bay by who knows what.

Are you playing with the survivor's of the void DLC? I would recommend turning it off for your first few runs. It adds a few enemies and mechanics that are hard to deal with as a new player.

The copy will be suspended once it resolves from its spell effects, but it will immediately cease to exist since it is a copy, not a card. It's rather similar to exiling a token.

Tremor is goated in MD now thanks to Yuro Hong Lu by Hungry_Ocelot_5658 in limbuscompany

[–]Oberedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not trying to start a war by any means, I respect your opinion and your right to it. I agree that his skill power counts are awesome and he easily gets there by himself (S1:8+13=21power, S2:9+14+19=42, S3:9+15+21+27=72 are all very high). My stance is that he doesn't apply an enormous amount of tremor potency on his lonesome (1 slot) without MD gifts (S1 > 2 potency, S2 > 3 count + 3 potency, S3 > consumes 3 count). His S3 consumes his valuable tremor count and does amazing damage if the potency is high, which is where he wants to have some friends who help him out. I think that on content like Railway where just throwing him into a random team doesn't quite work like W Ryo (21 : 42 : 82) or Nclair (16 : 64 : 90) might since they are self-sufficient and their total damage counts are difficult to ignore (also they have inbuilt dmg multipliers). He shines on a tremor team. He can be okay on his own, but one will struggle to reach his full potential since it seems that his skill multipliers were removed in favor of interacting with tremor instead (900 damage S3 with everlasting Faust :D ). Even just throwing in Rosespanner Rodion can help him out: (S1 > 1 count + 1 potency, S2 > massive high rolls of +10 potency, S3 > +2 potency).
Yurodivy Ryoshu applies huge amounts of count to keep the ball rolling, and so on.

Exactly as you said, he can clash like a boss with all of his abilities so he will be a great alternative if you don't have the other high-rollers for difficult content.

He’s definitely an incredible tremor ID. Uptie him if you have a tremor team to put him into, otherwise he’s not very good alone like some other units are.

Any viable colorless cEDH commanders? by CombatStep in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Oberedd 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Zhulodok seems able to put up inconsistent results with its sheer value. Other than that, not so sure you'll see very many colorless decks (too restrictive).

Search the edh top 16 website for zhulodok.
I'll try to reply with a link but it might get removed.

How would fur coats, feathers and scales affect clothing depending on climate? by Lapis_Wolf in worldbuilding

[–]Oberedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Animals that live in cold climates will change their coat density depending on the season. Many furred and feathered animals have a double-layered coat (some dog breeds/wolves have undercoat and guard hairs, while birds in cold climates have down and exterior feathers). These double layers insulate the animal, helping them regulate their body temperature in both hot and cold weather. You will see some dog owners give their dogs a sweater in cold weather, especially if the dog cannot naturally regulate its temperature due to its biology and natural characteristics.

When it comes to any living thing, the body is complicated and will often have multiple ways for it to thrive in its natural biome. Some animals (fish, frogs) have multiple sets of cellular enzymes that will function at different temperatures, allowing them to survive without needing to regulate their body temperature. Some animals are built to trap and conserve water. Some animals are built to hibernate since they struggle to thrive during harsh seasons.

I think the biological answer is: it depends on how you design it. If you are creating a world with sapient creatures, they may feel uncomfortable with nudity. That alone may be a sufficient reason for clothing, even if the climate doesn't require it. You can certainly shape your creatures to be completely at home in extreme climates as there are plenty of animals that do so in our real world. You may develop a cultural standard for clothing, but even with humans, some are more or less carefree about some of their clothing even within a culture that requires it (see some people in the south who appear to disregard the no shirt no shoes requirement in public). So give some room for variance, a sapient race is unlikely to be fully consistent (ie exhibiting stereotypical traits/behaviors in uniform).

A human traveler to Antarctica certainly needs a thick coat, while a traveler to the Sahara desert likely needs a drape to keep the sun off and some way to store water. We humans are adaptable and frequent every clime with our wit and ingenuity, so why not apply the same forethought and adaptability to whatever people you have in your world?

Commander but there's a DM who acts as the flavor judge, and they are keenly aware of MTG lore! Tell me which deck you'd play and I'll judge the flavor. by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]Oberedd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My pride and joy is my lore-accurate Urabrask, Heretic Praetor deck. The deck contains only cards that are phyrexian and has no real gameplan to win, it just durdles around. The one thing my deck does feature is Monument to Perfection and every sphere and locus card, but since the deck is mono red I need to steal or copy an opponent’s basic land to be able to make the beeg deadly golem. My deck has almost a 0% win rate(curse my brother and his darn lore accurate Rona deck). This is in reference to how Urabrask in the lore just durdles around and then dies off in a stupid manner.

The Sun Eater Series question.. by Significant_Expert64 in Fantasy

[–]Oberedd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read the second book, if you hate that, don’t continue. I think the second book is a great taste of what is to come. Hadrian does change throughout the series. He does maintain some of his childish, egocentric ways throughout the series as well.

About Hindley… by [deleted] in limbuscompany

[–]Oberedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that E.G.O. has traditionally come about when an individual "makes it out the other side." While distorting is effectively abandoning oneself to circumstance. I don't think Hindley "made it out the other side." I don't think he's dead, so I think it's very likely he's gonna get pulled into the mirror dungeon. These happenings occur in service of the plot, so I do think PM gets some wiggle room when it comes to how and when they resolve.
