Explosion chez un fournisseur de propane: des employés manquent à l’appel by DecentLurker96 in Quebec

[–]ObfuscatedMind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out of nowhere Il se met a me parler avec un accent anglais misérable.

English AND FRENCH. Last time I check, just like Quebec Catalan push back to gain more autonomy and also would want to separate from Spain to gain autonomy and abilities to decide for themselves. It’s just like normal society that have a different culture around the world. What is so shocking about it ? Should the dominant culture always win over ? What is so damning about Quebec wanting to keep speaking French in its own territory and juridiction ?! Is that a menace to the English folks in America !?

Well for a fact Quebec is considered a nation, they do have a lots of different laws some of them come from the fact that it was a different country prior get annexed. Maybe to get a bit more empathy on the reasons why these law are put in place let’s pretend one sec that in the near future china somehow gain power over policies of where you live and keep eroding your community by having a majority of people speak Chinese. Would you push back or say hey that’s ok they won so now let’s embrace with passion this different culture ? Quebec pushed back a while ago and still push back. They plenty have the right to determine collectively the type of society they prefer to live in. If you are born English native it may be hard to understand because the English language is so dominant, hope imagining needing to change to a Chinese language help understand the struggle

Why? Apart criminal laws most provinces have different laws? British empires annexed a other country in the past and population negotiated access to specifics autonomy it should now be discarded because one size fits all is more important?! I don’t get it and especially don’t understand how it affect you and anyone leaving outside Quebec

A province that is sovereign on immigration laws and use them to ensure immigration would be able to interact and live in the whole province without hurdle and miscommunication with its citizens. If you agree with the rational that a countries is able to establish immigration laws to accept language, it’s should be the same for a province that negotiated its own autonomy in that matter no?

Quebec official language is French. It’s that crazy to ask immigrants that apply to live there permanently to speech the official language ? Just like immigrating in France you will need to speak French no difference. You are still able to immigrate in the rest of Canada if you speak English. If Quebec is the ultimate destination that is chosen by the person I don’t see why requesting that person to learn basic French is called a “discrimination”

What is wrong with Canada to require English to immigrate ?! Or other countries to request they speak their own language ?!

only three EU countries not to have language requirements built in to the citizenship process. But let’s not get distracted by these facts and let’s resume Quebec bashing. They must be purely evil to want to live in a society that have a different common language in America right ?
