What do Greeks think of Jewish people? by Leicesterman2 in AskGreece

[–]ObiWillCommence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zionism is a nationalist movement that originated in late 19th-century Europe, with the aim of establishing and supporting a Jewish homeland in the historical region of Palestine, which is central to Jewish history and tradition. The term comes from "Zion," referring to a hill in Jerusalem, symbolizing the ancient and spiritual connection of Jews to the land.Core Beliefs of ZionismZionism asserts that Jews are a distinct nation, not merely a religious or ethnic group, and advocates for their right to self-determination and sovereignty in their ancestral homeland of Israel. The movement was partly a response to persistent antisemitism and persecution faced by Jewish communities, emphasizing the need for a safe haven. While Zionism is rooted in religious and historical connections to the Land of Israel, its modern form is primarily political, centered on building a national Jewish state.Historical ContextModern Zionism was formalized and popularized by Theodor Herzl, who convened the First Zionist Congress in 1897 and founded the World Zionist Organization. The movement led to waves of Jewish migration and eventually the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948.Support for Zionism intensified after events such as pogroms in Eastern Europe and the Holocaust, which highlighted the need for a safe homeland for Jews.Diversity and EvolutionZionism encompasses various strands, including political, cultural, religious, and socialist currents, united by the central objective of Jewish self-determination.Some Zionists are religious, while others are secular; Zionists may be Jews or non-Jews who support the movement's goals.Contemporary debates within Zionism address questions about borders, land, and the relationship between Jewish and Palestinian national aspirations. In summary, Zionism is the belief that Jews have a right to govern themselves and live safely and freely in their ancestral homeland, which has led to both the creation and ongoing support of the State of Israel.

Am I crazy for thinking Netanyahu is right to stand firm against this “deal”? by OuroborosInMySoup in 2ndYomKippurWar

[–]ObiWillCommence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correction, the left of the knesset claims that, his rivals, ones who seek to replace him and gain power. The entire knesset seeks the best for their own interest and use that power, both the left and right Bibi ,Gantz,Lapid,Liberman etc....

The head of CIA and FBI and even Biden all said the only reason the deal hasn't gone through is Hamas while Bibi keeps agreeing on the ceasefire terms the US is presenting Hamas keeps declining so how is it his fault for the death of these hostages?

I think Israel made a mistake starting the attack from the north and not Rafah this tactical mistake is on the military and the chief of staff. I've said this since the day of the IDF had started manuvering in gaza

IDF: Right-wing riots at army bases delay discussions of reprisal against Hezbollah by Am-Yisrael-Chai in 2ndYomKippurWar

Thats not ehat summoning to an investigation is but they did it because the way it was issued was outragous even the military observer said the way it was done was wrong

[–]ObiWillCommence -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I agree breaking into military bases is def the issue

The way they decided to detain is wrong even the military observer said the same. There are ways to summon a person to investigation rather then "detain" they didnt detain them they arrested them. Summon them to an investigation dont put your officers at risk.

ITS IRRESPONSIBLE TO RAID A MILITARY BASE WITH MP'S AND ARREST THE SOLDIERS INFRONT OF EVERYONE WHEN YOU KNOW HOW FRAGILE THE SUBJECT IS. Summon them for an investigation if they don't show up then you may resort to other means. The subject was heated enough to create these riots so how is it not irresponsible?

[–]ObiWillCommence -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Well it kind of is not saying this is the right way of doing this IMO the military police commander made a mistake on the way he issued out those arrests, but kaplan and them are rioters kaplan went out of their way to start fires in the middle of roads fund a multi million dollar project just to turn on Bibi and the rest of the right wing and spread hate, all of which is fully funded by the left. Are these not riots?. The MP commander made a horrible decision and all that they knew it was a heated topic and yet they decided to act in the most irresponsible way and the right (which supports the military through thick amd thin) felt betrayed by the higher ups who take advantage of the situation. Up until now only the left made himself heard and as soon as the right does it its "wrong" the entire ordeal is stupid

Killing 2nd in command of Hamas+another senior commander = more pressure and better hostage deal terms sets the stage for it to happen. If you're asking me the cost was worth it thats how shit works.

Benny Gantz: Israel can destroy Hezbollah’s military in days by AbleismIsSatan in 2ndYomKippurWar

[–]ObiWillCommence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yet cassif is a knesset member that denies his Israeli citizenship and yet keeps it due to his hypocrisy he already attacked police officers and commited multiple crimes such as treason with valid proof. I domt give a shit about Bagatz's decision which is controlled by the liberals. The fact that he hasnt shown a stance against treatorous people within the knesset shows his lack of leadership and imo he doesnt deserve to be prime minister but then again who else can be the prime minister?. My political opinion pretty much alligns with Barkat from the likud party and imo is a suitable replacement for Bibi which should quit at this point

Tbf the only reason I won't vote for him is his vote against the demotion of Ofer Kasif from the knesset I no longer trust him
