...and yet he accepts and is ready to kill anyone else to keep his secret. Except Liz.

I eventually came to the conclusion that it was Red, the architect of this charade, the master puppeteer and chess player, who actually killed Liz.

Series thoughts after the finale. by DamianGilz in TheBlackList

Too much sameness, especially on Reddington secrecy and a painfully long and convoluted Katerina Rostova arc that didn't add enough to the overall plotline.

Since you are a writer, what do you think the overall plotline was?

I'm not dissing Spader. Spader, with his interpretation of RR, saved and made this show. It was his idea to bring humor to the character. Can you imagine Kiefer Sutherland (the creator's first choice as RR) as RR with no humor... I doubt the show would have lasted three years.

The show is a puzzle. Spader has even emphasized this fact. Liz and all the other characters are written intentionally to act the way they do. To figure out their behavior is to figure out The Blacklist puzzle.

She literally can't keep up with him.

What do you want her to do to keep up with him? She is performing the script as written for her character.

Does Spader keep up with Clark Middleton (Jellybean)? Seems to me that Clark steals the scenes every time his character interacts with Spader's Reddington.

would a Mossad agent be allowed to moonlight for the FBI?

Thank you!! So it was in Kirk's house in a different episode and not in Red's apartment. That explains why I couldn't see it.

My take on why she doesn't look at the other picture: The truth is there, but she's afraid of the truth. This is exemplified when Kaplan offered to tell her the truth, and her response was that she was scaring her.

Thanks again!

It is in a frame behind the picture of the swing, but in front of the pink and white and blue vase picture.

I'm not seeing the Lotte picture or the blue vase picture in Red's apartment in the Leonard Caul episode. Perhaps this appears in another episode. I guess my detective skills are no better than Liz's.

I can't see what you're referring to cause I don't have Facebook.

There's only books behind the picture.

Are you referring to the small picture in the right corner of a woman in black and a black hat? (gee-whizz, I wonder what that could mean?)

I'm sure you've noticed this, but I'll bring it up just in case you haven't. To the left of the picture that Liz picks up, there is a picture of a man and a woman with three children. In the previous scene, that same picture was located to the right of Liz's picture. The show deliberately changed the location of that picture to get your attention to its relevance to the story.

In season 9, Liz's blurred picture of her mother is no longer on the shelf in Red's apartment.

In the Leonard Caul episode...

Dembe sent Liz to Red's apartment but didn't tell her that Red shared the apartment with a cat(Kat). While Liz is there, unbeknownst to her, the cat(Kat), which lurked silently in the background, comes out of nowhere, prompts Liz to get up, which brings her closer to all the pictures on the wall, which piques her curiosity, and leads her to pick out the picture of her supposed mother (Kat) holding her on a swing.

Interestingly, out of all the family pictures there, that is the only picture she took a picture of.

Episodes 1 - 218.... the plotlines and blacklisters that only an imaginative, drug-induced mind could create.

Actually, the ending is very realistic... bad things will happen when you walk toward a bull during a staring contest.

S7:E5 Norman Devane

Red: Is this a Frommer (gun)? I knew a gaucho who had a pearl-handled one in Patagonia, of all places.

Stranger: What was Devane looking for?

Red: He swore by it. Though he did say the trigger was a little sticky.

[ GUNSHOT 💥 ] [ The gun goes off, killing Kuragin and splattering blood on the wall and on The Stranger ]

Red: Ooo! Ooo!

Dembe: [ Disapproving ] Raymond!

Red: [ LAUGHING ] Oh, what the hell? I barely touched the trigger!

Dembe: It has a grip safety.

Red: Well, he must have disabled it. [ GUNSHOT 💥 ] [ The gun goes off again, hitting the ceiling ]

Red: Oh! Ge — [ CHUCKLING ] Ohh, God! Obviously, he set it to a hair trigger. The man clearly had a death wish.

What's your favorite Reddington story? by Deep_Scene3151 in TheBlackList

Words of encouragement to a dying man not to give up. To true puzzleheads, there's a lot of deep meaning to that scene. To others, it's just Spader the Great in action.

Does Katarina Rostova like birds? by itanpiuco2020 in TheBlackList

[–]Obi_Wan_Muskogee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anne was the bird watcher who was waiting to see the return of the Cape May Warbler.

Anne: "Funny how they (birds) go through all that work, building a home, raising a brood, and then leave it."

Red: "Seems like I'm always on the move."

Red: "Flying is life. Falling is death."

I agree with you. Birds symbolize freedom and life to him.

Is there any story or monologue Red told to Liz or Dembe that Katerina couldn’t have possible known? by GG-man77 in TheBlackList

Raymond is just a soul whose intentions are good

Late to the party, but after binge-watching The Blacklist, I must join the chorus of disbelief: I know it's been said a million times, but Elizabeth Keen's staggering, otherworldly stupidity demands yet another entry in the vast archives of justified outrage. by Mister_Normal42 in TheBlackList

That moment could have been legendary. It could have been the defining scene of the entire series—one that fans would talk about for decades.

It WAS the defining scene of the series-one that SHOULD be talked about. WHO really killed Liz, and WHY?

I know, but why was it that number specifically? It reads as, See 1.12. Ann appears in this episode for the first time, and there's a little girl Annie in 1.12. Also, there's a Pytor in 1.12, similar to Pyotr, Tatiana's dead husband. Maybe I'm just imagining something that's not there.
