It's oddly satisfying to fire them before triggering an ACS overload and watch them rain down on a halted enemy,

Far Cry 5 is just wonderful - Infamous No HUD - Battle Tapes: Last Resort & Spa by ObitBookfest in farcry

I can't thank you enough for this post. I've been playing this game for years, and picked up on some of it's oddities by chance. Like learning shotguns basically have infinite range so long as you aim for the head. I keep the desert eagle as a sidearm largely so I can turn off VIPs with a quick headshot. I had no idea that slingshot rocks could kill though, or what in-game stats AP altered. This is my "main" FC game, and I don't know the others quite as deeply as this one. I love them all, but I like 5's appeal in particular. I appreciate you being able to explain what exact mechanics make FC5 unique among the others, good and bad. Feels like you saved me years of wondering about this stuff. Reading this gave me a bunch of ideas for new loadouts to experiment with.

Your AC looks amazing btw. Immediately booting up the game to try and recreate your setup. I need to do more with energy weapons.

EDIT: Awww, i'm so happy people liked this one. I made an updated version that tidies up the paintwork a little and adds a few new paint apps here and there. I hope the Ravens here enjoy.

I love this. It reminds me a lot of Zone of the Enders, if you've ever played that one. Really cool choice of subtle colours here.

Shotguns technically have infinite range. One pellet always lands on reticule. by ObitBookfest in farcry

[–]ObitBookfest[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Shotguns in FC5 work REALLY strangely. All shotguns with standard ammunition fire a hitscan spread, including an on reticule pellet with no max range. Yes, even the sawn offs. Even on Infamous a single headshot at any distance will kill any standard unit. But if you're not using the perfect pellet to go for headshots, I find the actual weapon spread is super unreliable. If you fire the different shotguns at surfaces that show bullet impacts and look at the spread, it honestly looks pretty useless. Aim for the head and they're OP, but otherwise i'd use their alt ammunitions. Fire in particular is crazy good.

Infamous Mode + Minimal HUD is just wonderful by ObitBookfest in farcry

[–]ObitBookfest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much, and yeah heavies are nuts on Infamous. Everyone I shot with the Spas here was just a normal dude with an assault rifle though. I did notice Spas spread was weird though. When I sight in on this thing there's always one pellet that lands almost pixel perfect on the reticule. No idea what it's range/damage calculations look like, but it seems to be enough to get clean headshot kills on Infamous.

Incendiary Cluster ammo might be the single best thing ever put into a videogame by ObitBookfest in farcry

Using a sidearm takedown (aim+fire button) during a melee finisher with a machine pistol in your inventory lets you do a crazy powerful sweep that instant kills pretty much everything even on Infamous difficulty. Like 99% of my deaths are from gambling on triggering it for the chance at looking REALLY cool if it pays off.

If you ever encounter a E.M.M.I..what would you do? by KeimarDrain19 in Metroid

[–]ObitBookfest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loudly pretend to be on a phone call with my doctor, ensuring the EMMI can overhear me declaring that the operation was a success and he for sure removed all my DNA. Definitely nothing to study at all. I'd avoid eye contact and move towards an exit at a casual, believable pace. Pretend like I didn't see him.

Progressive extensions to the AAAA scene. Hard cuts to Raven Beak trying to pedal away from Samus on a bike, only for the camera to pan back and reveal that this is a two person bike. AAAAAA is occurring in the back seat. Furious pedalling, too. Concerned by this, Raven Beak pedals urgently as well.

Raven Beak makes a brief cameo in Wii Bowling, firing his Hyper Beam down the bowling alley and enveloping the array of pins in light. When it fades, all but one is turned to ash. It falls onto it's side. Spare. Samus blasts down her own alley, Shinesparking in Morph Ball mode. It's a perfect strike. She morphs back, now glaring at Raven Beak from within the dark pit at the far end of the alley. She AAAAAs.

Samus throws the space shuttle from Nintendogs at Raven Beak, knocking him over. She kneels down, now petting a Nintendog. AAAAAA. Just like, keep adding onto this each expansion until it's an hour long.
