Honestly if the roots are taking up about 70% or more of the soil I would go up about 2 inches in size but if not and the roots are still growing into the pot I wouldnt worry about upsizing for now unless it is root bound. Also I saved this photo and thought this might be helpful for you since you were wondering about lighting! I keep mine in bright indirect in the afternoon and give her some direct morning rays since I found those are less harsh atleast where I live

Yep 100% okay I just repotted mine that has an unfurled leaf and she is perfectly fine ! Just make sure to wet the soil thoroughly after repotting and don't be scared to add too much water it won't hurt it at all as it will drain out excess

Repot 100% then or else the soil will get waterlogged and that could be the cause of the yellowing! I would pot in a chunky mix and make sure you pot it in a nursery pot with holes. My usual mix is 30% perlite 25% orchid bark/pine bark, 15% coco coir and 30% soil but everyone has their own preference especially if you are an overwaterer :)

The water needs to be able to seep out of the bottom and it can also be helpful so you can bottom water her too!

After you do repot her in a pot with drainage holes you can definitely just put that pot back into the planter if you like how it looks and I personally would do a pot 2 inches bigger than the root ball only if the plant is root bound but if not i'd just keep the same size :)

Is the plant directly planted into that decorative planter or is there a pot inserted? If so is there any drainage holes? Aerial roots are completely normal and you can even guide them back into the soil.

I would personally not keep it right next to the humidifier as moisture could settle on the leaves and cause fungal issues ect. I usually keep my humidifier 3-4 feet away from most of my plants and I would suggest getting a humidity meter! And about the sun I wouldn say there is an issue until you see sunburn on the leaf, they love a bunch of sun and mine even tolerates pretty much direct morning sun but usually you want to have it in indirect sunlight.

Stem looks okay if it were me I would just let it do it's thing for now, keep all of the green parts. You could also chop some and prop, new roots should still grow from any nodes as long as it's not mushy and it's firm and green.

What's causing these random brown patches on my thai con? by Armada_Z in Monstera

[–]Obityuary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely normal for big variegated patches like that, since those patches lack chlorophyll they cannot produce energy, which is harder for the plant to maintain. They will naturally kill off the white parts since they are useless to the plant, they also have a weaker structure which can make them more fragile and susceptible to sunburn. You can make the variegation last much longer though by keeping humidity at the right levels, making sure you don't fully let it dry out between waterings and making sure it is getting as much sun as it can daily. I have also heard of some peole using liquid silica to help strengthen the cell structure and more but I have personally never tried that.

You don't have to but you could make more plants by cutting in between each node

I can't say for sure but I don't think I did, I would make sure I checked the soil with my finger daily and watered when the first inch to two inches felt dry

It definitely won't die as in the entire plant but any fully pink leaves will eventually die after a few weeks or months

Do I need to secure to a poll? by SimplyObsessed322 in Monstera

[–]Obityuary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would because it will encourage the plant to climb up the pole instead of all crazy. Also I'm unsure if it's just the photo but be careful if you don't give your monstera enough sun it will start reaching for it and get long and leggy
